Did anybody else go last night? Managed to luckily get invited to the do last night . ;D What a night it was rubbing shoulders with Greenhoff ,Smith,Pej,TC etc. The feeling came across just how much they all loved and still love STOKE CITY. Greenhoff my one real hero was fantastic and so was MRS Greenhoff. Also had a few words with Peter Coates and his wife, thanked him and the family for everything he has done for the club on behalf of all the rank and crew. Loads of photos i might put up in the photos section. GREAT NIGHT actually felt quite emotional.

How many pictures did you take? If there are a lot then the easiest way is to get a free subscription to one of the many online photo hosting sites. I use Picasa but there is also photo bucket and flikr etc. Or you could post them on face book if you have a facebook account. Then, having uploaded the photos to an album on the hosting site you put a link to the album on the message board. If there are not too many photos you can post them direct onto the picture page of the message board. I'm hopeless at that so you'll need to get advice from another poster! So how many are there?

I think they said Blutos reason was ilness,Peter dobing is a bit of a recluse and Jon Ritchie dies RIP.the rest of the squad were all present. What Nigel Johnson said was that it was approaching the anniversary of his wife's passing which he was understandably struggling to come to terms with. Smithy was very complimentary about Bluto saying that he could not have dreamt about playing with another partner. Clearly had very warm feelings about him. It might also be that some players are naturally introverted and are quite happy to slip back into their old routine once their playing days are over. For the guys last night who have been out of the limelight for 30 years or so, it must have been quite an ordeal sitting under lights on high chairs in front of 300 people or so, all of whom were expecting wit and wisdom from their heroes. I thought they all did very well under the circumstances although one or two looked a bit uncomfortable. Pej, Berni, TC and Denis were very much the comics with the rest playing the straight men. I was most impressed with George who spoke very well, clearly a smart guy. The FA would have had their hands full with him when he protested against the minimum wage. There seemed to be great camaraderie amongst them which was great to see. All around great night particularly with the rousing rendition of "We'll be with you" at the end. Shawcross looked like he was going to die of embarrassment when they dragged him up on stage!

It was the best night out ever, being in the company of all those legends, i was lucky enough to be presented with a framed shirt from terry conroy, it was secretly arranged by my son deane, when he found out it was my 50th season watching scfc

I was very impressed with how the whole night was put together. Those evenings can often have an amateurish approach in terms of the final output but the club really did put on a fantastic night. Nige was an excellent host, there was great representation from the 72 squad, and to see Coates, Shawcross and Rudgey to name a few was a fine showing.
The Q&A was very entertaining and the video clips were put together with a real professional touch.
The biggest highlight was how everyone mixed. All of the 72 squad were more than happy to chat and pose for photos. And our present captain made a great effort to speak to as many people as possible.
Well done Stoke.

It was a wondeful evening and brought back many memories of that great team. Lovely to see how much affection they all still have for the club and its fans. If Ryan didn't know before he must realise now that our club has a special place for its stars and a rich history.
I remember when the likes of Banks and Smithy were considered tall, Ryan towered over them both!
