Did he live by dividy road? Not far away, lived on Beverley Drive for a while, just up from the Wagon & Horses then moved to Cornwall afaik. Had some crazy away days in the back of the Luton van trips he used to organise around 77/78. Went weight training with him and a lad called Mozzer down Booth Street a few times, he could certainly shift some weights. He also drew a load of cartoons for the Sea Lion, he was very talented at that. r.i.p Tans, sincere condolences to family and friends.

Haven't seen him for over 30 years and probably wouldn't recognise him if I did tbh, nor him me I suspect, I was only 16 or so.

If it is the same gentleman, i knew him for a short time back in the 90's, well my wife knew his partner from the school run, and while they talked, we would stand there and have a natter about our beloved Potters Sad news.

Did he have a daughter called Tracy who lived in Kidsgrove? yes and and another one called kellie who was killed in a car accident. he named his gym in stoke after her. I knew Tracy well growing up a very very nice girl and always thought her dad was a body builder. Never knew him but a sad loss all the same.

I didnt know him that well, but I always remember the first time I actualy met him. He came knocking on my front door, pumped up and all that. When I opened the door he asked for me by my name. He then said "Glad I've found you, I've been after you" My first thoughts were that he wanted to kill me. Instead he said that my lady had told his that I was after some tickets for an up coming away match, and that he had a couple to spare if I wanted them ! Its sad that characters you remember from early days pass away.

Hi lads, this is Tans`s wife Lynne..I thought I would bring you all upto date as to what happened to my beloved tans! He kept up his training here in Tintagel, Cornwall..thats where we moved to in 2000 when his daughter Kelly died in a road accident..she was 16yrs old. We had our own little gym at the back of the house. We were married for 17yrs very happily & Tans found peace & love in his life. We used to be together back in the early years of the 70`s & I used to go to matches with him..he always loved his stoke city! We found each other 17yrs after we broke up & had the same amount of time together before he died! he`d stopped taking roids many years ago, but still looked fantastic for his 59yrs! As everybody knew Tans lived his life to the full & many people loved his stories & adventures, though I know there were the ones who never really knew him, only knew of him! He touched a lot of people in many ways, its those people who will always remember him & make him eternal in their memories! He died suddenly in the gym whilst training, & would`nt have known what was happening. We had no signs. The day he died he`d sat with me & told me how happy he was & how peaceful his life was with me, then went into the gym, finished his training, wrote in his book ( he documented every training session, which he dedicated to either people he knew or stoke city), then died! As you can imagine this last year has been very traumatic for me without my lad! I had only just 3 days before started doing an oil painting of him, as a valentine present, it was`nt finished when he died. So I had to finish that as soon as possible. The prints of this are available to those who are interested, please pm me! Tans was very keen that I continued to do my work in life & supported me in every way. I am an artist & writer, who writes internationally to the rights of sexworkers globally! I am doing a bbc radio programme on bbbc radio sherborne on feb 16th this year, a year to the day he died. It is dedicated to Tans & will be available on bbc radio sherborne web-site..which I will give you the address of if you like. I hope this message brings you all upto date as to the loss of Peter Tansey. An amazing man, who loved his team and loved life and all it had to offer! If anyone sees mozzer or any of the lads from the bygone days..please feel free to get them to contact me..my e-mail addy is lynnetansey@hotmail.com. Tans is buried here in Tintagel at St Matriana`s looking over the cliffs of King Arthurs Castle..a place he really loved! The lads from Powerhouse came down to carry his coffin..he was buried with his stoke scarf & his training belt! Thanks for you stories about Tans..they cheered me no end! I would like to hear more of possible, no matter how small they are..again thank you lads & up the City! <3

Didn't know him, but he sounds like a sound Stokie. One thing I do know, he couldn't be resting in a more beautiful place on this island. Tintagel and the surrounding areas are just magical.
Commiserations, binnie, and RIP Pete Tansey.
