Brilliant...this will waste hours of my life.....Interesting how even in 1973/4 and 74/5 when we had a team that challenged the best, we were hardly ever on- things dont change do they?

That's a brilliant site. I was a ballboy in the early 80's and have just seen myself having a mini mental after we scored the penalty in the 2nd half of the Stoke v Arsenal game March 1985 ;D

Wow, what a goldmine... Just watching Stoke v Arse 84/85 - the horror season yet we still beat them. Some proper 'tackles', a grassless mud bath of a pitch, goalies picking up backpasses, spiked railings and gay shorts. Fooking fantastic... ;D

Amazingly we were unbeaten on MOTD in 1984-85.

Brilliant...this will waste hours of my life.....Interesting how even in 1973/4 and 74/5 when we had a team that challenged the best, we were hardly ever on- things dont change do they? That's because Hugh Johns and Gary Newbon were always down the Vic with Star soccer( too young that was on Sunday afternoon on Itv)

Gary Newbon's Tubeway Army. Crikey - a horrific image.
We were of course almost never on MoTD. There was some sort of BBC/Faustian pact going on which rendered us virtually invisible. Equally, we were also the slightly unwelcome guests at the ATV/Central party. This was mainly due to the (not surprising) love affair that raged between Billy Wright and Wolves. Or Derby. Or Forest. Or Villa. Or anyone in fact except SCFC.
That is a great site. It's hard to believe now just how little football there was on TV.
Check out the opening game (Liverpool-Arsenal) for early footage of George Eastham.

As DaveF pointed out simply astonishing that we could get through the entire 84/85 holocaust season without once losing on MOTD

Brilliant site - but bloody frustrating.
I really want to see the Stoke 3 Leeds 2 game from 1975/76. I remember Jimmy Greenhoff winning goal of the month with a classic trademark volley. It's in the list of games - but doesn't have a link!
BTW - if anyone else has a link for the above game it would be much appreciated.
