All as I can remember was this club was up Glass Street, possibly early 90s.. It would have various artists playing there..usualy one hit wonders..anyone remember the name?

Was called the Academy when Golden first moved there. I can remember it being a rollerskating ring in the mid eighties

Funnily enough i parked up outside what was the void today and was looking at the building , i think i'm right in saying its been condemned, such a shame, the only decent place to go these days is satchmo's (next door to void on glass street) and lets face it thats a dump.

Didn't Golden used to be at the old Regimes before it went to the Void? Or was that some other dance night coz i can remember the bongo man used to be there as well - even saw Robbie Williams in his Take That days in there = oh and that place in glass street didn't that used to be called Joel's?

I think Golden started at Regimes, then moved to a little club in castle that I cant remember the name of, then to The Academy, and The Cube in castle for a bit (before it was Zanzibar) before moving back to The Academy, which was renamed The Void. Great nights, all of them!

Hi, just created an account to reply to this thread. Club used to be Roxy Roller Rink and then became "Joels" nightclub, later to become the Void!

Ah so it was at the old Regimes originally then! Cant remember going to any in Newcastle unless they were at that club in Pepper St but they were deffo good times - cheers Stateside Stokie ;D Oh n thanks for makin me feel old davel lol - i can now also remember it being the Roxy Roller Rink   |

Tuesdays at moes were good, nearly cost me my job too, went straight work pissed as fk about half 5 in the mornin, oops!
Golden & sin city were my memories of the void, used to attract some big name DJs, many a good night, happy days :-)

yeah i remember leftbank stokietommo - me n my mate used to go up hanley on a saturday buyin girlie stuff then we'd go to leadbellys then the leftbank before we went home to get ready to go clubbing
