Great time to go to Cuba in my opinion, you will be able to see Havana et al in there current state, get the feeling that everything will change now that Castro is on the way out

Cuba is great. Make sure you take some extra money to do some of the trips there. There's some really goods one to go on like one where you have your own 2 seater speed boats, go into the rainforest and obviously Havana.
The Maldives is quality as well.

What's my best ooptinf for exchanging money, I hear you can't take "paesos?" in or out of the country. Would I be better taking sterling or us dollars, bearing in mind the strength of the pound against the dollar? Cheers

Mauritius is the way to go for pure relaxation, Jamaica is also very good, but my best holiday was going on Safari in Kenya, you can't ever have any idea how brilliant it is until you've been, saw loads of elephants, lions, giraffes and loads more, right close up

jonesinamillion. Pretty sure you cant take dollars there anymore. Im sure I just took some paesos and stirling travellers cheques. Dont take things like a PSP or Nintendo DS cuz they take them of you at the airport if they find them.

Yeah. If you're intending to buy cigars dont get them from your hotel. They're about 10 times more expensive. We went on one of the trips around a local town and some guy came upto us to sell cigars. He took us in his house and sold me a box of 25 Monte Cristos for $25. They pinch them from the factories. They were $250 in the hotel. (This was when you could spend dollars there)
