Clear skies here and about two-thirds of the moon covered but it hasn't changed colour yet.

I'm not into my space, science I just recieved a facebook group request a couple of weeks ago...
So i thought it was a special thing, like a once in a life time oppurtunity, similar to the one where day went to night type of thing a few years back, people were paying silly money to go to cornwall, and plane rides but ended up dissapointed because of shit Brittish weather. But it turns out that it isn't that rare at all...
in fact thinking about it now, i can recall seeing one of these Lunar eclipse on and away trip at halifax, many moons ago,pun very much intended, think it was a autoglass trophy tie in 2000?
so quite dissapointed i stayed up fir it

Cloudy in Hartshill and 'Castle between 3 and 4am.
A-teen - 1999 was a solar eclipse not a lunar eclipse. I lived darnn sarff at the time and went to Blackpool Sands just south of Dartmouth to see it. It was cloudy but amazing to see the sky go dark, all the streetlights along the coast came on, the birds singing a dawn chorus and the radio in the car picking up French radio for a while afterwards. Not that picking up French radio is great but the eclipse buggered up radio waves.
Eclipses aren't rare and there are usually a combined total of 7 lunar and solar eclipses a year. What made 1999 rare was that it was a total solar eclipse (unlike a partial or annular) visible in parts of the UK.
It's gone 5am and time for bed.

i was sitting outside the local enjoying a midweek beer with someone ive just started dating when a bunch of people started staring at the moon... and there iit was.. so back to conversation with potential gf. Only strange thing was that the potential gf looked realllly good at that moment.. but still not convinced i'm ready to give up being single.. even for a hot 28yr old with mind blowing breasts..
