The wings are indeed clipped, because it's a leter model Spitfire and the wings were clipped to give better performance I believe.

Maybe so, but they are clipped even more, like, squarely cut off and not rounded. It doesn't look aerodynamic at all, it looks like they've been cut for it to fit into the room.
