Anybody recommend any as i think we are paying over the odds for our broadband with Virgin. We are paying £18 a month for 2mb, medium usage. Just asked if they can reduce the bill any and been told no that thats the best they can do. Is £18 a month too much??? I only dowload music and its not that often anyway.

Say about 5 to 10 albums a month whatever that amounts to? We aint been downloading anything for the last month though cos our main pc packed in so we are currently using our laptop.

I have vodafone@at home
25£ monthly for unlimited broadband and unlimited landline calls
this includes line rental
NO SEPARATE BILL TO BT
some of my friends dont believe its possible to not pay bt line rental.
i do think however that you need to have a separate vodafone contract mobile.
there is a few vodafone workers on here who could confirm that

I'm in the same position with Virgin. They keep sending me crap through the post advertising 2mb broadband for £4.50, yet I've been with them for over 10 years for phone, tv and later broadband and they won't cut me any kind of deal. I intend to keep trying until I get the UK sales office, instead of India, and then threaten them with going to Sky, where I can get a better package than I'm on now for about £15 a month less. The only trouble with switching to Sky is the upfront charges for reconnecting to BT (over £100) and paying for the Sky HD box to replace my Virgin V+ box (again around £200). I only need the faster broadband so I can download Lost in hi-def quicker, because Virgin fell out with Sky and I can't get it any other way. Shower of bastards!!

Really wish i could transfer over to a sky package for the whole lot but cant for the reasons you mention. The bloke i spoke to in 'India' just offered me deal a with free weekend calls and slightly faster broadband for £1 a month more than we pay on the whole tv phone and broadband. Its no use to us though. I want the bill reduced without losing what we have.

Mr Wheeze and youareall wrong.......
tell Virgin that you are going to move to Sky for the full package, they'll probably cut you a deal then.
I moved to Sky from ntl (Virgin) and in the month leading up to my switch they offered me free cable for 3 months, then 6 months then a year!

Ive rung them again and pleaded poverty so they've reduced the broadband to 10 quid a month for next 6 months. Also sorted out a better phone deal with them. We seem to be ringing mobile numbers a lot from our landline, so theyre gonna reduce calls to mobiles by 25% for an extra £1.50 a month. Quite pleased with mesen and extra brownie points from me missus as well for sorting it!
