Just a thought for the closed season (whilst anticipating a return to the top flight!); would there be any interest in hosting a one day "oatcake" golf event / competition at a local course? Maybe £10 entry fee with proceeds going to a worthy local charity, a few prizes for the winners, maybe the club / players would get involved? Entry criterea... Member of this board & hold a valid club handicap. Any interest? Anyone fancy helping orgainising it? Any contacts for local courses?

Not enough people would come if you had to have a proper handicap. I used to play off 17

Things get messy without propper handicaps, and i doubt we'd find a course that would open their doors to a bunch of "hackers". Maybe club and/or society handicaps ould be acceptale? Just thought I'd see if there's any interest, could be a fun day, excuse for a few beers and raise some money for a loal charity; I'll ask the question and see if there's enough interest to persue it further.

I'd be interested. Play at Lichfield Golf and Country Club (formerly Seedy Mill) with a handicap of 12.
They would CERTAINLY let a bunch of hackers on. Anything for the money...
Bit far from Stoke though!
