Haven't seen the footage but if it was as bad as it sounded and was intentional with mallice, when does the line get drawn where it fall under assault or worse? Arsenals squad can absorb such a loss, but god forbid it were to happen to a key player at stoke, or any other club who's starting 11 pretty much picks itself, it's quite easily a season wrecker - FA have got to irradicate it somehow, criminal charges in such cases may go some way?

The tackle was a johny shocker but I don't think for any means it was intentional. Reminded me of what happened down the Britt last season.

You're right lefty. We were sat in the John Smiths Lower for that game and heard the crack!! But Rory has come back as strong as ever, so good luck to Eduardo, I'm sure all normal football fans will wish him a full recovery.

To be fair i think it was just a horribly miss timed tackle, i know you always hear managers defend players and say "he's not that type of player" but it seem that Martin Taylor really isn't a dirty player, read what Souness once said about him - archive.thisislancashire.co.uk/2002/1/26/637394.html"What he is short of is making his physical presence known at the right time. He is 6ft 4 and with a body like he has, he should be a bully. I want him to be a bully. "But you could beat him up and he would still say thank-you at the end of it He is a nice lad, too nice, and he is perfect son-in-law material. You would be delighted if your daughter brought him home!

Not sure about it being unintentional though, Sunderland were violent that night, ridiculously cynical.
