I have just finished a history of Stoke project as part of my college work and am feeling REALLY proud to be Stoke now. Thought i knew it all (well ok then most) of the history of the club, but its just sunk in what older Stokies are on about when they say about "this famous old club" etc. Having only had a season ticket for the last Four years (and attending regular matches since '97), I have missed seeing the likes of Hudson, Matthews, Banks, Skeeles, Conroy, Smith, Steano, Sheron Etc Etc Etc play week in week out. God why couldnt i have been born in the 60's!!!??? Life aint fair!!

But look on the bright side!
To have seen Matthews etc., and remember seeing them, you would have to have been born in the 50s.
If that was the case, you would also be losing your hair, your teeth, your "manly" figure, your clothes taste, your ability to dance! ;D ;D
If you were that age you would also probably regret not having been around to see the 1947 team, or as my Dad reminds me, the 1936 team which contained 3 full England International forwards.

And if like me me you saw us from 1969/1970 onwards you'd have wondered why we've kept coming back week after week watching some of the utter shite we've watched over the last few years/decades!
Be thankful that what you are watching now is champagne stuff compared to that!!
