Dave, I'll probably dump it in another 6 months times.... but I continue to insure fully comp to maintain my no claims bonus which would be most beneficial when I swap it.

Mr_Wheeze is correct, you continue to build NCB no matter what cover you go for, and most companies will let you upgrade to comprehensive in the case of a change of vehicle, but as with anything, its worth asking the company first.
