Now I love tennis. Sadly I always looked forward to a Grand Slam tournament as I kept that tiny glimmer of hope alive that Tim Henman ....or even Greg :Pwould bring tennis glory 'back home'. I used to get up/stay up all hours of the day offering my support and although frustrated quite often felt a little sadness for the pair of 'em when they pluckily...erm...lost! Then they retired. Having given me years of heartache but at least a Brit to cheer on. Then I got Andy feckin Murray! Now, it's not 'cause he's a Scot ....he's still British so I show him support(Welsh could be pushing it however )He's just not, well, likeable somehow. he's 'parted company' with one of the best coaches in the world...why? 'cause he didn't like getting up early to train? He moans, he holds that feckin ankle whenever things go t1ts up. I want him to win but I'm indifferent when he loses. I need an English tennis player to light the spark again ;D

I class Greg as an honorary Brit If there are a couple of Croats out there with a British mum or dad they'll probably do aswell! ;D

I was pleased when he lost. I'm the same kind of Englishman as he is a Scotsman. By that, I mean that whoever an Englishman or an England team is playing, the Jocks always support the opposition. I do the same.

English are shit at tennis. Tiger Tim was a choker and therefore shit. Andy Murray is doing a lot for uniting the UK because he is Scottish and also shit.
Despite it being in Australia its nowhere near half as popular as Wimbledon is here.

Tim had the weight of expectation on his shoulders throughout his career and although not an excuse for stuffing up at vital moments he was something that we don't see very often and might not see again for ages, an English player in the top ten of the world rankings for many years. He suffered injuries that hampered his career and if rain hadn't stopped play would probably 've won Wimbledon and who knows maybe then would've gone on to world domination I'm glad that I had someone to cheer on being a tennis fan. Unfortunately, I'll just have to hope that some other rich kid out there has some drive and ambition to make a name for themselves in the sport rather than b*ggering off to work in The City!

Well Andy Murrays doomed again. news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/tennis/7184683.stmRain stops play at Wimbledon and thats that. His oppponent had no problem retaining focus. It was the same for both players. Henman wasn't strong enough.

We'll have to agree to disagree about Tim Joe I saw that Murray had 'crashed out'. Best find himself a tennis coach!

Murray is a great player but got a tough draw
He will still win a grand slam, my bet is us open but tsonga is in a false position ranking wise . He is a top 15 player at least when he turns it on

I agree with you Sokief Henman and Rusedski carried the U.K for a long time and did us proud. How anyone with any knowledge of the game of tennis can call Henman or Rusedski chokers baffles me.Both were in the top ten in the world. If my memory serves me well both earnt shed loads of money and oh yes young tennis players look up to them.hey. Regards

Stoked, what a load of bollocks,i just have to hope that some other rich kid out there has the drive an ambition. The reason we are wank at tennis is because its still so middle class in this country, dont you think some of the kids on council estates would make it given the chance?henman was wank,he had no guts and when he got anywhere near the semis he just shit himself,he was a upperclass twat who had the chance to play a sport because of his background, good fucking riddence i say,and that jock can fuckoff while im at it.

You obviously didn't detect my subtle sarcasm in that quote! I know only too well how tennis 'works' in this country thanks very much. However, Tim Henman can't help where he came from but at least he became a top ten player unlike many of the rich kids who get to take the sport up as a job!
