As a basic rule they've got to offer 10% of capacity or 3,000-whichever is the least.
This is just an initial allocation and is just a case of them printing off the tickets for a couple of blocks. Theres no point in the expense of producing any more.
We do the same with an initial 2,500 (probably lower to less supported clubs) plus another 2,000 if needed.

Jumborat,
I don't think are any hard and fast rules governing away allocation for league games - though there are for FA Cup matches.
We were only offered 1,000 tickets last time we went to the Stadium of Shite in 1998 and we sold those out in no time at all!

How about this as a nice gesture? A few weeks ago a couple o' my Preston Knob-End supportin' chums made the trek up to t'Stadium o' Shite when, only 15mins away from t'ground, t' game was postponed 'cos o' t' weather...so, as some kinda recompense, Knob End are offerin' tickets for a fiver even to fans who hadn't already got a ticket for the original game...I'm told that those who retained their tickets get free travel!...which is nice....

I believe there are no regulations on away ticket quanities in LEAGUE games.
for years the away section @ St. James's Pk was about 650. Its also why Millwall & Us have been able to ban away fans in recent years.....but you couldn't do that in the FA cup

I predict I rather large away following of 399.
I'll be there though, every step along the way.*
*Or at least every step when IlfordDave comes my way in a mini-bus! ;D
