Penalty takers deserve full credit Indeed. If I'm honest there were more than a few names in the 8 that eventually took one that I wouldn't have been comfortable putting my mortgage on, so well done to them!

Was it my imagination, or was Sandro's hair blue?
The youngsters Carroll and Townsend looked good for them I thought. Livermore crawling back onto the pitch was hilarious.
And who knew we could take penalties?

I thought tonights midfield (the one we started with) was our strongest possible to be honest, and I hope he gives it another go against ManUre

Midfield too deep, Matty almost falling over his own defence at times and when we had the ball at the back, there was no one to pass to. We also got dragged into the ball too often leaving gaping holes. We never picked up on their short corners or quick throws. Half asleep. Okay, we won, dreadful game by both sides. I've seen better footy with subutteo. Fair do's to the pen takers, Shotton was knackered so good on him despite some woeful crosses in the game. I suppose that's the Carling Cup for you, will be totally different against the shit. Can't blame Pulis or Rednapp for putting the Prem first; my point is that 120 mins of football is what we didn't need.

That wasn't a match which will live very long in the memory but credit to both managers for putting-out reasonably competitive teams and treating the competition with respect.
Congratulations to Stoke for winning the shoot-out and I hope you continue your success in the competition.
