Not sure if anyone is aware of this fella but he is being hailed as the greatest young player of his era. He's 14 years old and on the books at Washington DC Utd, will be hopefully playing alongside our own Jay Denny at the U20 camp he is set to join. I know there are a few who have fallen by the side of the road in similar circumstances but it is predicted he may earn a full cap at the age of 16. Apparently an unbelievable talent. Apparently said no to Man u and is already one of the highest paid players in the MLS if reports are to be believed.

seem to remember a certain Sonny Pike getting the same tag once. It's really hard to judge. I can still remember being in Cyprus after France 98, reading newspaper clippings on how Joe Cole was going to take the world of football by storm all on his own. Hype is guilty of killing some talent before it's even begun(Jay Denny on the other hand, he really is the next Zidane )

First person I thought of Gareth was Sonny Pike on hearing of this lad.
In all fairness the Sonny Pike hype was more to do with him going to the Ajax school of excellence. Whilst he was a gifted player, even Ajax at the time proclaimed they had better prospects on board. He was built up here to be something that he wasn't....he hadn't taken the country by storm the way this lad is doing.
Would be interesting to hear what Jay Denny thinks of him really.
Wasn't Sonny Pike Marc Falco's nephew I seem to remember?

Freddy Adu is certainly one of the big "future stars" of professional Footbal (Soccer).
Apparently Chelsea offered him £50,000 per week!!!! Doubt it's true, who'd turn that kinda money down!!!!

BigEd, Everyone on here if offered the assistant manager's job at Sunderland having been at Stoke as manager (on 2 grand a week) for 5 months. ;D
Onto to Adu. I think there is a Jay Denny article somewhere that has a couple of lines about said 14 year old prospect in it.
