I hope Worthington says the exact same about him when he inevitably begins to fuck up his current job.

Nobody would do an exceptional job with Northern Ireland. They simply haven't got enough decent players to qualify for a major tournament.

Didn't he have various gripes about Stoke when he was Wycombe manager? He claimed we only beat them because Bjarni got one of their men sent off. The score was 5-0. That was one terrible blunder by McAuley last night. How is Worthington supposed to win international games with clowns like that in his team?

Micky Thomas used to say it about Toshack.
It happens.

The blokes a total numpty. N. Ireland are doing well to even be vaguely in the hunt for qualification at this stage in the qualifiers - they have a much smaller pool of players to pick from than even wales

Sanchez has got too much face for my liking. Just look at him he's got to be about 30% face. And he's got a stupid name. If your surname is Sanchez then your christian name shouldn't be Lawrie. It should be something like Pablo or Ignacio. Fucking Lawrie? Lawrie Sanchez? It sounds like the stage name of a nearly retired club singer.
This bit made me laugh though:
"Sanchez, who is currently the manager of League Two side Barnet."
Fuck off Sanchez.

I remember too, Wycombe away... constantly glaring over at Stoke fans, moaning about how there are better English youngsters that should be given a chance ahead of our foreign players. Bit rich considering his name is "Sanchez".
Reminds me of Alan Pardew. Smarmy c*nt.

Laurie Sanchez has about the same credibility and ability as those crazy fuckers that make the TV show dirty Sanchez.. the guy is a total prick.. Northern Ireland are doing very well when you consider the size of eligible players that they have to pick from.

Any manager would have an almost impossible task of bringing success to Northern Ireland. Qualification to a Euro or a World Cup is as far as they can realistically hope for. The same can be said for the Republic of Ireland - the best that they could realistically hope for is to progress to the latter stages of a major tournament. Sadly, both are highly unlikely for some considerable time.

How are Barnet getting on then, Lawrie?
I think Worthington has done a good job with them, they lost to Estonia when McCourt, Jonny and Max Evans and also a few other players were unavailable. Sanchez would still be playing Healy up front if he was in charge of them.

Sanchez still gloats about his victory v England as if he is Billy Bingham and achieved glory with NI.
Re the Bjarni incident- he said Bjarni wen't down like Mike Tyson although he stayed on his feet. To be fair he did give us enormous credit at the end of the season.
He is a decent manager though I think and deserves a better job but should keep his trap shut re Worthington

if northern ireland couldn't qualify for a major tournament when george best played for them, what makes him think they can do so now?they only one i can think of is spain 82,with a shit hot norman whiteside. Jonah - Billy Bingham took NI to Spain in 82, Whiteside only played in the finals not in qualification - and we also went to Mexico in 86........ One player even if it is Georgie Best can never carry a squad - its about passion, pride, working 'arrrd, team spirit, keeping shape and taking the one or two chances that come your way........... Surely us Stokies know this............ Under Sanchez, NI beat England, Spain and Sweeden all tremendous results that led to us climbing 125 places in the rankings............yes! 125 places Sanchez is a cracking manager and I for one would have him back tomorrow...............also a really nice guy, who made himself very available to the fans.... He is also one of the most qualified managers in Europe - fastracked on the first Degree level coaching/managers course run by FIFA................ NI major problem at the moment is the lack of passion/pride/workrate etc....... Nigel is too one dimentional - and even the fans can see that he is losing the dressing room - Players like Johnny Evans (our ONE player who will be playing in the Champions League) should be played in thier position not at left back to make room for a mediocre Centre back Its time for Nigel to go......and bring back Lawrie, but it should be others saying it NOT Mr Sanchez himself So, Lawrie if your following this post - Keep quiet, let the people who need to know know of your intrest, and all being well you will be back at Windsor Park.

To be fair, he's just bigging himself up and trying to get the job back. Bit of a twats trick but hey its dog eat dog! If you really want to see a manager being a disrespectful tool, just have a look at the Hoddle quote on disabled people, which is on another thread right now!

Good post IP2010, but Sanchez probably knows that going through the proper channels will get him nowhere.
He has to let the people know he's up for the job, 'cos the Irish FA like everyone else nowadays will go with the populist vote.
Now he's made it known he's up for the job, he's hoping there'll be a clamour for him to be reinstated, and 'hey presto', he's back in the job.

To be honest, I can't see why anybody would want the NI job anymore (unless it pays more than most manager jobs?). The recent number of players declaring, and being allowed to declare, their allegiance to the Republic has made NI's very slim chances of qualifying for a tournament even slimmer. Its not like they had a big pool of players to select from before!
