I'm a David Lynch fan and obviously he is something of an aquired taste but if you like subtle humour, quirky well made films Coen Bros or Wes Anderson films fit the bill (e.g. Big Lebowski/Fargo?)
If you like horror try Andre Aja - "Switchblade Romance"/"Hills Have eyes" 1st remake.
Psychological horror/Ghost stories - try some recent Spanish cinema such as "Fragile/The Nameless"
Gorgeous, big, titted women taking it in every hole and avoiding censorship by using prosthetic todgers try "Monamour" by Tinto Brass
or for something REALLY out there "Taxidermia"

Shawshank redemption, quite simply the best film ever made
ANd if you can find it a British film called "Going off big time" about a man who gets sent to prison who really shouldnt have and what happens during and after...very good film.........If you find that let me know, ive been after a copy for a while now

Titanic! Watched Mr. Brookes recently, although not the bestest ever film made, it held my attention 'til the end. Also, agree Band of Brothers is absolute quality!
