I thought that Peter Hoekstra had a very good game yesterday. When he ran at them, all they could do was bring him down. I don't know if you recall but when we played Brentford in the play off final, in the programme Paul Jewell picked his second division team of the year. In it was Hoekstra, who he said has very skilful and very dangerous to opposing teams. This is why Wigan players closed him down so much yesterday. To see someone's match report on the board giving Hoekstra a 5 out of 10 is ludicrous. Why TP subbed him I have no idea, I thought we certainly looked less attacking when he was replaced by Svard.
On a seperate note, a quick comment about Asaba's work rate yesterday. He worked very hard, chasing back and going forward. He also had some lovely touches and flicks.
Anyway, we can play better, and Pulis is really shaping a very good first division team.

He put on Svard for GNW...I assumed he wanted to make it solid by changing to 442.
Commons came on for Hooky in what I thought was a straight player for player substitution.

He put on Svard for GNW...I assumed he wanted to make it solid by changing to 442. We were playing 4-4-2 all game. It's only because all three of Ade, GNW and Asaba were playing that some people thought we were playing a different formation. Asaba played on the right wing leaving Ade and GNW up front

As RRP said, we played 4-4-2 all game, except the last 10 minutes when we seemed to go 4-5-1. Early on Sarbs played as an out and out right winger, but swopped over to the left later.
Hooky went off injured.
Just before he went off there was quite a lengthy stoppage during which Hooky was doing some stretching exercises and rubbing his ankle/lower leg.
As soon as the bench saw that, KC was stripped off. Hooky went over to the touchline, looked like he might have carried on for a bit, but, with his problems I think TP decided to play safe.

OK thanks AlliG, thought that it must have been an injury. Cheers
