Stoke City v. Wigan Match ReportAt the end of the day Tony Pulis and Stoke will accept that a draw against in-form Wigan is a point gained, not two lost, but they will also know that they should have been able to hold onto the win under the circumstances as the visitors were reduced to ten men late in the game. stokecity.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=944&p=2&stid=8339623Pledge Count LatestStoke fans are just 300 or so more pledges away from getting cut-price season-tickets next season after a huge influx of new forms on the day of the Wigan game took the total number of pledges already taken at the club to over 8,500 - with just 300+ more required for the target to be met.stokecity.rivals.net/default.asp?sid=944&p=2&stid=8339625

Smudge.......
In your match report why is this the only mention of the Roberts saga in the first half.....
"who had already incurred the wrath of the Boothen End "
No direct comment on his "dive" whatsoever None of the Sunday papers have it in theirs either....
To me this is a big talking point.... and almost worth an artical just by itself.. I have been watching football for 41 years and this was the most blatent cheating I have ever seen ever seen... The guy was embarressed and jumped up straight away... there was nobody within 3 feet of him.... A video should be sent to the FA.... The ref obviously saw it didn't give a penalty for obvious reasons but should have booked the cheating sod straight away...
Just wondered why you had not given it a direct mention mate thats all.....
otherwise spot on.....

It's actually 350 NEW season ticket holders that we need, the number hasn't actually passed the 8000 mark, yet. We can pretty much guarantee there will be 6300 season ticket holders whatever but it's 2200 new season ticket holders that is the key figure - and we're nearly there.

ERB, I have from a very good authority that all we needed as of 6pm last night was 3-400 more, no mention was made of how they should be made up, whether it is existing ST holders or not. The club are very happy with the amount of forms that were returned yesterday, and are also aware that their database is not up to the job as several ST holders have mentioned the fact that they have not received the pledge forms in the post but filled them in yesterday, the same also applies to the real supporters who have cards to say they are real ;D

It was mentioned last night Rex on Radio Stoke by Tim Gallimore that is was 300 odd non-season ticket holders that we were short. Obviuosly something that needs clearing up from the club, maybe on the official site tomorrow?
Either way, yesterday was a very successful day for the pledge scheme from all accounts. ;D

On the official board, a headline says we need less than 2000, but the article says we've got 5500. The graph hasn't been updated. ???

Re: Roberts
From my view in block 19 I didn't think he had dived, I thought he just fell over the ball and got up pretty much straight away.
Obviously people near the front of block 23 will be able to provide a much better story of what happened but I refused to chant against him until he got sent off because I didn't think he'd done anything wrong upto that point.

"Obviously people near the front of block 23 will be able to provide a much better story of what happened" We are in Block 23 and to our eyes (all the people around myself and my lads) thought it was a clear dive - as in jumped in the air as if he'd been shot type of dive . No doubt in my mind whatsoever. Prosser also had a good line of sight (as he did for Clarke's foul on Teale) so I guess he just bottled it or thought it so funny that he couldn't book him for something so outrageous ;D

On pledges. Theres a post on the crappy rivals board saying that we've only got 6000 and that the 380 was the weeks total. This post also states that 1800 season ticket holders are still to pledge.

Must admit that my view of the 'dive' was that he got his studs caught in the turf. I was a bit surprised at the Boothen End reaction. Normally such a fair, unbiased, sporting section of the crown more than willing to give the opposition the benefit of the doubt! Having said that I seem to be somewhat in the minority when I mentioned it at work.

Nope, it was the worst, most cynical, shameful dive I've ever seen in my whole life .... and that includes watching several of Neil Warnock's teams. Should have been a straight red for that.
As a Baggies supporting mate said, that Roberts would be alright if he stayed on his feet for that 30 seconds...

he lost the ball then leaped in the air and fell sideways, if getting your studs caught makes you jump up verticle then spin around like you've been shot in mid-air give me slippers any day
