Okay we are all pretty much agreed that Radio 1 is pants, as are most of the DJs on there. So as newly appointed controller of Radio 1 you have to put together a team that will bring and keep audiences of all ages. For me the likes of Jonathan Ross, Phil Jupitus and Mark Lamarr would do for the 30 somethings. Cat Deeley and Vernon Kay for the younger folks. Nick Hancock can do the sport and for a giggle Peter Kay can have the drive time show. John Lydon takes over at night for the request show!!
As an almost thirtysomething I'm very worried now. Will I wake up one day next year and suddenly like Ross, Jupitus and Lamarr ??? Pulling women of a pensionable age I can handle, taking three days to recover from a drinking session I can handle, christ, I could even handle a comeback series of ColdFeet, but Jupitus ???....'might aswell give up now.
Having said that, I'm stuggling to come up with any constructive alternatives.
Whats Morrissey up to these days? I reckon he'd go down a storm on the afternoon show.
