For one reason or another, I don't always manage to get an Oatcake ( I know, I know - I'm a sinner!) - but I noticed in this week's (341) that there appears to have been some correspondence on the Appointment of Tim Gallimore as PR Manager at the club.
"Name & Address supplied" mentions a "loyal defence by Guy Beech" - can someone bring me up to speed on a) the original letter/comments and b) Guy Beech's reply.
Also - am I right in thinking I may have missed some controversy? Personally I'm open-minded about TG's appointment - when was the last time you heard a rep from the club (other than the manager) on P&G saying thanks to the fans, but if there's some opinion I'm out of tune with I'd like to hear.

Nick,
Here is the letter from Guy Beech, with regards to Tim Gallimore's appointment, which appeared in Issue 340...
Surprised!
Dear Oatcake,
I was really surprised to see the letter in the Preston issue regarding misgivings on the clubs appointment of Tim Gallimore as the Clubs new Sales and Marketing Manager.
I was a member of the very first Fans Forum and saw first hand how Tim fought for the views and concerns of Stoke City supporters. There were many heated meetings, first when Jez was still around and then with the current Board. Nobody could have fought the issues harder.
I really believe that some supporters underestimate the time and dedication given by the Fans Forum. Many give up a lot of their free time to the cause.
It’s very easy to knock from the side lines. People need to understand that the Forum has no real power but certainly can try and influence some Board decisions by making the decision makers aware of the Fans feelings on related issues.
I have no idea of the validity of the claims on his Business Dealings, but I can say Tim really understands the issues we all feel strong about including ticket prices, ID cards, etc.
To have somebody with Tim’s experience now in a key role for the Club can only be a bonus for all Stoke Supporters.
Regards,
Guy Beech, via e-mail
Hope that helps mate!?
