Not even for "Quiet Wednesdays"??? I want to know what happens on a Wednesday when a few folk come in and it isn't as quiet as it should be...do they have to leave? Personally I think a certain Mr Smith was caught trying to pilfer the adult fruit machine in the toilets hence the restraining order.

I kind of know the owners of the Beehive (if its the same people that were there last time I checked....I'm not friendly with them or anything), whats wrong with the place?
And 'Quiet Wednesdays'?!

It's not that bad. Though I've never been in there other than on a match day where it is always packed and I always end up drinking outside in the carpark. They operate a bus service to the ground.

So I take it D, you won't be visiting for the new "Quiet Wednesday" evening they have introduced? Wonder what happens if you talk too loud or munch loudly on your crisps?
"Shhhhhhhhhhhh............quieten down or you're out over there"

All the crisps they sell are 5 months out of date, so they dont crunch while eating.
If you do a loud fart you get barred!

I live in Eccleshall, but the Beehive is good because you can park up and take the bus to the ground. I really only go two three four five times a season.

Damien, There's no need to throw your toys out of the pram because I kicked your arse the other night. It wouldn't have mattered what the venue was ;D

Penkhull Terrace....where is that then? I really should know the area better than I do. There is that little alley-way type road between Honeywall/St. Thomas Place/Prince Road and Penkhull New Road.
I know I'll have a look on some map thing.........ah yeah, I know where you mean. Isn't there that pub on Penkhull New road, The Terrace is it? That not any good, or do you just prefer the Marquis?
Thinking about it, how many pubs are there that close together?!
-Beehive -White Lion -Terrace -Greyhound -Marquis

Thats where I went Dave, and where Smudge's kids have all gone I think. Although now The Close has been knocked down and Penkhull Infants left empty as a new school, 'The Willows' has opened on the site of the old Mount School for the Deaf which I presume you will also remember.
I haven't been past The Close site for a good while but I think they were meant to be building houses on there.

Pricey.... was "my" pond still there, behind the wall opposite the R.I. .... across staff car park... from the main hall.......
I remember doing a lot of digging for that pond...
and were you ever shown the air raid shelters ?

New years Eve we visited all the pubs in Penkhull.
Started at the White Lion, where 70's Disco 'Dude' was selecting 'classics' from his days at 'The Place'...incidently played far louder now than then!
Moved up to the Greyhound, both lounge and Bar were packed...took as long to escape as it did to get served.
Braved the downpour (under a kind chaps' Jacket!!) and across to the Marquis, as always on NY's Eve it was heaving.
Along then to the Terrace.. actually managed a sit down in there.
A run along Kirkland Lane back to the White Lion...Disco now in full flow
Then across to the Beehive, where we all...apart from one of our group!!!!, celebrated the New Years arrival.
Can't beat Penkhull for a good Pub Trawl
Hxx
