Looks to be effectively 2 youth teams, with just one senior player on either side. In fact, if 'Phillips' is Jimmy, not Demar, it looks like we're fielding no palyers anywhere near the first team.
Tininho gets reserves call Posted on: Mon 14 Apr 2008
TININHO will see his first action in more than two months when he plays for Albion reserves at Stoke today (ko 2pm).
He has not appeared for the Baggies at any level since returning from a loan spell at Championship rivals Barnsley, at the beginning of February.
The Portuguese left-back is the only senior player included in Craig Shakespeare's 16-man squad for the Pontin's Holidays League clash.
STOKE: St Louis-Hamilton, Diao-Jimenez, Connor, Thorley, Page, McDonald, Phillips, Wedderburn, Alexander, Moult, Yilmaz. Subs: Cohen, Watson, Vickers, Urwin, Ho.
ALBION: Carlin, Pike, Tininho, Hancox, Holmes, Labadie, Nicholls, Worrall, Knight, Lake-Gaskin, Compton. Subs: Lloyd-Weston (gk), Saied, Elford-Alliyu, Sawyers, Samuels.

Tininho-fookin Brazilians! Is Carlin Knowingeyes lad? Or the posh sounding Lloyd-Weston?

Looks like they're winning 1-0.
Alexander, whoever he is.

1st half was really scrappy, tawdry affair with no shape, long high balls and little chance to see a passing game with Warwick causing problems for the Wba defence, with his height and bulk, but great feet for such a big lad. 2nd half started more positively and a more passing game with two goals taken by Warwick Alexander and the other from a penalty cheaply given away by the Baggies' Irish youth international keeper, Carlin, (not my lad!).
I had an interesting chat with Joe Corrigan at the game who was bemoaning the current fashion to seek keepers from overseas, as a priority over home grown talent, from an early age, so as to stem the development programme for future, that clubs like Stoke have been trying to adhere to.
Poor game in terms of pure football, but the elements were not so good and the better team won.

I presume Warwick is Alexander's first name?

Yes - just heard the bit on radio 4. I haven't seen a grey in my garden since I last shot one six months ago. Reds are everywhere though as this year's youngsters are starting to get out and about!

Tom Thorley scored the penalty. I have written three match reports for this one, will post them when they are online!

Bayern "Tininho-fookin Brazilians!" Tininho was born in Mozambique, not Brazilian unless you count adoption by his team.
