When we have a midweek game followed by a weekend game i can't keep up nowadays, this is not far off now. I'm wondering how many players TP will 'rest' if any, Ethers injury may make Tone err on the side of caution.
Possible XI's?
BEGOVIC WILKINSON HUTH SHAWCROSS WILSON DELAP WHITEHEAD WHELAN PENNANT JONES WALTERS
Or possibly Jones an Carew up front with Walters on the left? ???
Blackpool look more shakey than Mr. Stevens himself at the back, i can see goals, and i can see us winning this one.

Our result last night was a double whammy for Wolves of all the other drop contenders if we start fielding reserves

It's a difficult one....Blackpool will be going at it 200% and we have a cup final....
Are you sure....?
I was thinking 2-1 to Blackpool or even 2-2 ..?

R people goin down even without tickets What's the full allocation there d'you know? And mumf, from seeing them recently, they really aren't half the side that started the season so well. For sure they should be going for it, but same can be said about Wolves last night, and look at them. I'm just being optimistic really.

If Pulis now thinks we are safe from relegation, he might play a slightly different team - especially as the Ethers injury might concern him about losing any others players before that little game on May 14th. So.... I'd rest Huth and Shawcross and play Overson and Cranson instead.

I think we'll win even if we field a weaker side 1-2
The concerns over Ethers' likelihood of being involved in the Final and the squad remaining injury free prior to it are rightly of paramount importance, but i think an unexpected win will restore confidence that we can still make a good fist of it.
Of a lesser concern but a concern nonetheless, when Higgy damaged his knee, i feared Wilson at left back but we have been far less disadvantaged that i'd have predicted. Granted, the Delap for Ethers question raises more concern than the Wilson for Higgy one did, but it just goes to show that we respond well when we know the chips are down
Keep the faith ;D

Part of me thinks TP will rest a few players but we are not exactly blessed with strength in reserve so I'm not sure how many he can actually rest.
I won't be surprised to see Pennant rested as he went off with a tight calf on Tuesday and we really can't lose both wingers. In which case he may put Walters on the right and play Carew and Jones in a 4-3-3 with Whelan, Delap and Whitehead in midfield. Who knows?
I'd be interested to see Wilson given a go on the left side of midfield. He has knack of making a bit of space for himself when in possession at full back so he may offer something more than Delap on the left.

I think we should put out the strongest 11 available and dick these no-marks! we owe them that much and to shut that fucking cunt rag Holloway up would be a blessing....

Begovic
Wilkinson Huth Shawcross Wilson
Pennant Whelan Delap
Carew Jones Walters It might look pretty suicidal but it could work, Delap isn't the best wing playing footballer so Walters could track back and help cover the left side of our attack, he's got a huge engine so it could be done, we wouldn't have to split up the Jones/Walters attack. I cannot for the life of me remember the last time we played a 4-3-3 formation under Pulis but when the options are this limited what other choice do we have, I don't want to bring in Danny Pugh, it'd weaken us rather than keep us strong. With those 11 players we can still cause teams a lot of trouble.

that team is far too weak and we would probably get a fine Is it just me or does everyone else think that getting a fine for that is a joke? I think it was Holloway who ranted about it recently, how clubs have to register players for the season and what's the point of it when you can't just pick who you want from that list?! Seems ridiculous to me, teams should be able to field "weaker" teams when it is strategically beneficial to do so in any competition.

I think we should rest some players for some of the next two games, without taking the mickey. The effects of remaining unbeaten, getting a goal or two, and just playing together, outweigh the keep everyone safe from injury argument, which would bring in Cuvelier, Lund, whoever. We need 18-19 players who have had some game time and will be ready to play.
So I would play:
Bego
Wilko (subbed by Shotto after 55) Faye Shawsy Wilson (with one of these subbed by Collins after 55 if we are winning)
Pugh Whelan Whitehead Soares !!! (needs game time as we might need to throw him on at Wembley)
Carew (won't last game so Jones to come on at 60) Walters
For the Arse game I'd rotate Rory and Whelo, Shawsy and Huthy, Diao and Pugh, Walters and Jones. Probably bring Pennant back for a run out, subbed by Soares when we're 3 up ;D
Shotton could play in place of Wilko v the Arse too, as I think he is a red card tragedy waiting to happen in that particular fixture.
