Didn't think we missed him personally. Pugh + Delap were fine in the centre.

I'd leave him on the bench for our next match, Pugh gives us more bite in midfield which is lacking when we play Whelan and Delap. Delap was very good today as well, I lost count of the amount of Coventry attacks he broke up.

Thought Pugh was non existent,as was Pearson...
Whelan has to go straight back in.
Bite?
Thats Glenn's middle name. I think Pugh is a touch too lightweight to play in centre mid in this division( prob better in the prem , more time on the ball).
Whelan is our best centre mid , we definitley missed him today, luckily our hoofing and high pressure game worked and so we didnt need to pass it around .

I guess it's all about opinions. Personally I think Whelan has been poor recently, he looked good when he first joined but he has had a dip in form. Pugh did a good job winning the ball and made some good runs going forward too, it's obvious centre midfield is his best position, but Pulis insists on playing him at left back or on the wing.

whelan was our best player second half against palace, and has been on is own in midfield since he came here, he has had to put up with a unfit diao or that waste of space decrap and then theres no pace pugh, a fit diao would be ideal then whelan could get forward more and have a few more shots at goal and support the front men, so untill that happens we will not see the best from him, my be pearson is worth ago with him

I don't think Ive seen anything like what I expected from Glenn Whelan yet.
Ive said this before - from what Ive seen so far, Id far prefer a James O'Connor or Daryl Russel over him (Whelan) presently.
My 'jury's' presently 'out' on Glenn Whelan and, I'm expecting much, much better before I am convinced.
To be fair, Liam Lawrence took quite a while to settle in too and, I recall, many was the debate (on here) over whether our Liam was a waste of money or not. too
That debate has now been settled I hasten to add !
