Due to financial concerns. www.guardian.co.uk/football/2011/apr/15/birmingham-city-europe-fa-premier-leagueWho would that open up the extra Europa League place too if they weren't allowed to enter? Would it be allocated to the next placed team in the Premier League table, or would the team who lose our semi-final on Sunday be allowed to enter as well as the team who win? ;D The whole Europa League format really confuses me.

It means Liverpool might sneak back into Europe - even if they finish 6th.

Sounds as though Brum will be O.K.. But, another club with an interesting few years ahead!

Naaa... it seems Bolton will go there anyway then, even though we beat them on Sunday.

Stoke or Bolton take Liverpool's place in Europe so i would guess that Liverpool would get Brum's spot if that were to happen.
Would be harsh on Brum though

Is the Europa league a cash cow anyway. I doubt any club would make any significant profit unless they got to the very latter stages............?

Is the Europa league a cash cow anyway. I doubt any club would make any significant profit unless they got to the very latter stages............? TV fees are not huge. I suppose it depends on how well you fill your stadium and how much you can charge for your home games. On that basis Brum or Bolton (or Fulham via the fair play?) would stand to gain less from the Europa League than us - but we would gain less than Liverpool.

Stoke or Bolton DON'T take Liverpool's place in Europe, Liverpool don't yet have any right to a spot if they finish 6th, Stoke or Bolton take their rightful place as FA Cup Winners or Runners-up. Brum's spot is rightfully theirs but if they fail to get their Europe 'passport' then YES the next place team do take Brum's spot Sorry for the moan but fed up of bin-dippers around here saying they have permanent right to Europe
