.................I doubt if many, if any at all, had the necessary crystal ball that fortold we would spend countless millions on a new team, much of which has been pissed up the wall - like last season by a manager who really shouldn't have been given that responsibility. This is not to say that we wont reach the promised land by May, it's just that with a trustee running affairs who actually knows what he's doing, maybe just maybe, things wouldn't be quite so tight now! PS. Presume momo you really meant Premiership when you wrote Championship? ![::)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/cj7bsBj2jOTuEAUVaPt5.gif) The money is irrelevant - i didn't see this disclaimer on the bottom of the PHW's posts earlier in the season. The fact is they said Pulis was incapable of achieving ANYTHING other than mid table mediocrity. The Championship quote makes perfect sense.

kindersurprise - so you're saying that massive disposable funds to purchase or loan new and better players has no relevance?

It has no relevance in the PHW debate.
The PHW's have constantly harped back to TP's Bristol City days where he spunked a budget away - so why would they expect him to ahieve here with money?

He's just won one in 8! At the bizniss end of the season! Against some utter wank as well!
You Rimmers must have implanted a double-glazed rose coloured lenses up Pulis' sphincter.
One shudders to think what flack old Bosclown would of* been getting under such a similar set of massive budget circumstances.

I fully endorse TP's comments, let's not forget how many ex-Premier League clubs there are in the division and how much many teams whave spent - Norris cost Ipswich 2.5 miliion alone. Seen as he has blown the best part of £4million on a defence (a defence that he doesn't trust so he brings in Riggott), plus the likes of Ameobi & Pearson, the money excuse doesn't wash these days Ian. We have spent millions on trying to secure promotion - one man will be to blame if we don't do it and that as always is the manager. Perhaps you should heighten your expectations mate and join us in the real world. Your excuses fro Pulis are pathetic. From a nuerotic bell end ;D

That money was well spent. We ended up with 73 points last year. We look like we might still exceed it this year with a full four games to go. Spending millions of pounds to wind up with - let's say - three extra points is testatment to Tony's genius. He's earned the right to tell us to be grateful we're above Hull.

At this rate, we'll wind up with the 86 points you normally need to go up in about three years providing we can use it to get somebody to do Mama's job even better than he does and somebody else who can throw it even further than Delap. Twenty million quid well spent, I'm sure you'll agree. How about Peter Crouch and Peyton Manning?

Is that the sound of a million pounds spunked on Bangoura being swept up under a convenient Boskmap rimming carpet?

Post by greyman on Apr 10, 2008 14:12:30 GMT
Well
a) That's not true
b) Our current manager thought we had bought a promotion winning side back then, didn't he?
c) What ever happened to Pulis's belief that we had a promotion winning side three years ago?
d) Boskamp was crap. Pulis is a better manager.

If Pulis was any good he'd have rehabilitated Sam Bang instead of out-sulking him. And he'd have kept the best right back at the club instead of playing any spazz out of position instead. I noted PHWingly that it was Hoofers who earned the comeback pen at Blackpool the other night. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif)

You Boskamp bang bus boys weren't quite as vocal back then about record transfer budgets and wage bills being spunked down the khasi and we didn't even get a run for our money back then.
All we got were excuses about him 'not knowing much about the English game' and him having only 8 players or some such bullwank.
What's the difference?

We all knew back then that it was impossible to work under the Icelandics, and that the transfer fund was all a big myth. Because Pulis said so and we always believe him.

Although we shouldn't seize on every single sentence Pulis says in order to criticise him, we certainly shouldn't be sitting here grateful to him for being above certain clubs in the league.
Let's be realistic about this. The standard of this league is appalling, and we've spent massively this season. We've been near the top all season. With the money we've spent, and the players in the squad, we should be getting automatic promotion.
With only one win in the last eight games, despite a reasonable run-in, Pulis should rightly be criticised unless we start looking like a team that wants to get promotion and has a Plan B.

If someone asked me at the start of the season if I would take the position we are in now I would have said Yes! If the same question was asked a month ago I would say No. Ask me now and I would be happy if we even make the play-offs. Since we lost those games at QPR and Preston we have dropped 7 points at home.Is it because Pulis got scared?I think so.

""We have to remember who we are and where we have come from. There are some massive clubs in this division and we have beaten most of them this season, and they would love to be in the position we are in." Typical Pulis spin. Reminding us that we should be grateful that we are even having a sniff at the top of the table. I know who Stoke are & where they come from you condescending twat, because I have been supporting them since I was a kid. That does not mean that I shouldnt expect much when we have spent the majority of the season near the top of a fucking shit league, and we are in the process of blowing a piss easy run in (comparatively) due to you bottling it. Absolutely spot on. Karma. Further evidence if necessary of Pulis, when the going gets tough, reverting to type. It's this kind of thing that reminds me just why I hate Pulis. It's an damage limitation set of comments by Pulis, a vain attempt to lower expectations because he realises he is, once again, on the verge of failure.

In terms of the last 23 years what has he said that is not 100% factually correct. If Boskmap had said it and included the word shit, you'd all have wet your trousers and be hailing him as the new Spike Milligan and a mangerial genius.

If Bossie had the funds available that Pulis has them I'm 100% certain we would now be promoted. As for harping back to the terrible buy that was 'Bangoura'....I didn't see many of you pissing on the Fat Man when he was slotting goals in for fun. Also, Victor, you do tend to exagerate. ![;)](//storage.proboards.com/800541/images/0m0lbCuTEBzaRn6f8QaM.gif) I believe the fee for Sammy Bang was 800,000 Euros? Back in the old days when a quid was worth summat, that would have been about £600,000? Plus we did get about £250,000 back for him didn't we? Pulis has just spent £500,000 on a half fit bloke to play 6 matches! Add to that the fee he's paid for Pie Man Who Never Made It and how daft is that! The bloke's a nutter. When it comes to buying duds, Pulis far outdoes Bossie by a country mile. Why did he sign Gally on loan? Where is he now? With Bangoura? I wouldn't trust the bloke with tuppence of my money. As far as the original post is concerned, it's just typical Pulis condescending bullshit designed to cover his back if we fail. OS.
