PLAYERS NASH: Hardly a shot to save, but still conceded two on another infuriating night for the City keeper 6 GRIFFIN: Kept his head well against younger legs and helped lead the late charge 7 PUGH: Recovered after nervy first half and never shied from responsibilities 6 CORT: Lost count of his efforts on goal as he frequently threatened against old club 7 RIGGOTT: Probably his team’s most consistent and composed defender on the night 7 CRESSWELL: He’s no Liam Lawrence out wide, but plenty of endeavour after first run out on right 7 DELAP: One of his side’s more consistent performers over the 90 minutes 7 WHELAN: Not his best 45 first half, but improved throughout the evening to earn reward with fine strike in closing stages 7 PEARSON: Stoke’s most accomplished attacking force first half and pity lack of stamina forced early withdrawal 7 SIDIBE: Dug deep, without looking his best or strongest, after being picked to soften up Crystal Palace for Ricardo Fuller 6 AMEOBI: Kept plugging away earnestly enough without threatening much himself, but should have buried one late chance 7 SUBSTITUTES FULLER (Sidibe, 56): A couple of classic moments and inevitably asked different questions of Palace’s admirable defence in the last half-hour 7 BOTHROYD (Pearson, 77): Threw his hat into the ring when it was desperation time in the closing minutes of the encounter 6 I really worry for Martin Spinks when he's dishing out 7's to the likes of Cresswell and Ameobi for last night's efforts. He says Cresswell showed "plenty of endeavour" and I can't dispute that. But what I have a problem with is that endeavour alone won't get us promoted

Thought Riggots distribution was woeful and Ameobi not a patch on his display at Wednesday. Griff struggled in defence, as did Pugh who failed to clear properly on numerous occasions. They can all play better than this so the 'marks' do seem very generous.

GRIFFIN: Kept his head well against younger legs and helped lead the late charge 7 He was run absolutely ragged!!
He is extremely generous when it comes to ratings. The only thing I would say is that it must be hard for him to slag off players who he actually knows.
He is in constant contact with they staff/players and the last thing you want to do is piss them off.
However, those ratings are ridiculous

Agree with Knowles. Without trying to make Griff a whipping boy he was run ragged last night (and not for the 1st time in recent weeks). We need two new full backs on Saturday, enter please Wilko and Dicko.

Griffin was absolutely shocking last night. He needs to be moved to left back immediately, his best position!!
I counted 7 straight passess from Ameobi that went to opposition players. 7, Spinks is having a laugh.

We need Dicko in the team as well, he is a defender, Pugh is not.
