I know that everyone is pissed and worried about the pathetically terrible all around performance this match, but do you honestly think we will be relegated? Everyone needs to quit being so over the top negative. They played like crap but they are obviously not gonna play like that every game for the rest of the year. The chance of relegation is slim to none. It's not gonna happen.

i dont think we will go down but you say 'played like crap but they are obviously not gonna play like that every game' but when was the last time we played well? We are stoke though, we never make things easy unbeaten at home this year in the league and with Wolves, Wigan and Castle coming here we will get enough

I think we will as well but after hitting 30 points on the 15th January surely we should have been looking at a better season than scraping home?
Fact is we have 4 points from the last 9 games and the manager has to look at some of his selections and tactics since then.
I'm not one who wants him gone but I'm pretty disappointed in him lately.

On the whole, you've got to say it's still very uinlikely.
But IF we lose to Newcastle - with Chelsea and Spurs the next 2 league games, it will be time to pull your brown pants out of cold storage.
If Wolves somehow were to beat Spurs tomorrow, things could get very uncomfortable.....
9 Newcastle 29 36 10 Everton 28 36 11 Fulham 29 35 12 Stoke 29 34 13 Aston Villa 29 33 14 Blackburn 29 32 15 Blackpool 28 32 16 West Brom 29 32 17 West Ham 29 31 18 Birmingham 27 30 19 Wolves 28 28 20 Wigan 29 27

Results pretty much went our way today. If Chelski / Spuds do their thing we're in the same boat as before today....
Saying that, the Newcastle game is HUGE. Got to get 3 points

Sunderland thanks! I always try to be positive. Being negative helps no one. I think how they preform next match will make greatly help determine where they will place at the end of the season.

The chance of relegation is slim to none. It's not gonna happen. The point is that it is not all about this match, yes we were shite today, we were also shite on Monday, away performances have generally been shite for quite some time now. We are not to good to go down, we have not got enough points to be safe and in all honesty on current form we are one of the worst performing teams in this league, the tactics been employed are shocking, team selection is bordering on stupidity and the players are not up to the job, looks pretty uninspiring to me. TP has spent a fourtune on players that he considered good enough to play in the premier league, he picks the team, he dictates the tactics and he should shoulder the responsibility for the abysmal dross that is in danger of dragging us into a relegation dog fight, make no mistake about it there is adistinct possibility we could be relegated this season.

We hit 30 points on the 15th of Jan, 9 games later we have 34 points - extrapolate that out over the season

it's not inconceivable we could be 3rd from bottom after the next 3 games and out of the cup not only is it not inconceivable it's looking more likely !

Its not blind negativity to be worried (and I am VERY worried) because the team selection seems to have lost the plot! Pugh and Wilson are not full backs. Wilson puts his foot on the ball when he should be overlapping, Pugh just doesnt defend like a full back Rory is not a left winger. It stops the flow every time he gets it cos he has to come back inside. if Matty cant play then play Pughy there at least he would give balance. Whelan's passing is awful at the moment any front pair is negated by either a lack of energy/interest
Subs are baffling. Pennant off today at 2-0 down??? Really?? We are actually playing MORE long ball than we were earlier in the season when the results were coming. I dont want TP to go ( would be ridiculous) but he HAS to have a serious re think. We absolutely COULD go down!

could go either way and it shouldn't be this close with the players we have. Substitutions today bewildering and the shaoe we ended up with makes no sense. Why take Pennant off and end up with Etherington on the right, Fuller on the left and Walters in the middle
Even then when he had energy and drive for about 30 minute we showed how we should have approached the whole game. West ham won without playing that well, we gace them 2 goals and attacked them too late, Surely going 4-4-2 with Fller up top and 2 wingers is more likely to see us get 2 wins quickly rathr than trying to grind out single points

This was an important game (well, every game is important, but considering WHU's position this game had an extra nerve) and we lost it convincingly. No tempo, one-dimensional and unable to respond. Again. We're dropping in the table and both the home and away form has been very poor after Christmas. I wouldn't say the danger of relegation is slim - I would say that relegation is a real possibility unless TP get his act together ASAP ZULU.

Spot on Jamo, we should just have enought ot scrape home fingers crossed but it should be so much better. Pulis has not covered himself in glory. Even if we stay up I am really worried about the mangagers ability to keep us in this league long term. This season will have done us no favours what so ever in attracting better players.

Need to get our facts right. 30 points in Jan and then 4 points from our last seven games, 5 of which were away. Even that form would get us to 40 points plus so it is tighter than it should be but let's not make up statistics

Games against Fulham, Blues, West Brom and West Ham should have yielded more than 1 point.
