Let's be honest. We were dismally predictable last night playing the same old tactics but...
... if Sidibe or Ameobi or Fuller had glanced in a couple of crosses or stuck a leg out at the right moment you'd have been creaming your pants over another hard working 'up and at 'em' performance and another 3 points in the bag.
It's been the same all season. In fact it's been the same during Pulis' entire tenure. His football is shit. He relies on an element of luck and, as he'd probably admit, knows that over time non-stop hoofs, crosses and long throws will get results with the right players.
Too many of you see the result as being all that matters and quickly forget about the tedious drivel that led to the 3 points. However, when tedious drivel fails to reap the glorious 3 points, you all recognize the fact that it's toss and moan and whine on this messageboard.
What worries me more than anything is that Pulis is proving that even with money at his disposal, he can't play any other way. I wouldn't be surprised if Mr Coates is feeling rather uncomfortable at the moment and might have to make a rather big decision before the start of next season?

...What worries me more than anything is that Pulis is proving that even with money at his disposal, he can't play any other way... That is actually true. And I honestly think we would play the same if we had Ronaldo and Rooney in the team. It is a fantastic system when we are the plucky underdogs but when we're the biggest spenders in the division it doesn't sit as comfortably with me. It's the way TP feels most comfortable with and, like any system, the fans will live with it when it works and question it when it doesn't. I would rather see a more dynamic, fluent, pragmatic approach than such a singular dogmatic one.

Sidibe's header, whoever swung and missed in the first minute, pearson's deflected shot, any could have gone in with a bit of luck. The problem at the moment is that if we are going to ride our luck at the other end (let's not forget that we're 2nd top scorers in the division) then we need a solid defence. The full back positions are a real problem at the minute, and lets face it have been all season really.

Underdog and team spirit seemed to go hand in hand. Last night we had 11 players playing as if they didn't know each other. Sidders and Ameobi seemed too similar, and at times were bumping into each other. For their first goal, we can look at Pugh's inability to get into his man, Griffin's lack of presence at the far post, but key to that goal was the fact that we had 11 players back for a free kick. When it came back towards the centre circle not one Stoke player was near to put in a challenge. It then came out to the their right, Pugh got dicked and the rest is history. That was such a massive game for us last night, and we got nothing from it. Think our most realistic hope is now through the play-offs, but we have to get there first. Oh and to all you Pulis-haters who are now coming out of the woodwork to say I told you so, ...Yes he's making mistakes at the moment, and he is limited managerially as to what style of football he sends his team out to play, (not to mention not seeing the value of having a forward in the centre circle as a first line of defence!), but ffs cut him some slack. We can all claim to know better than him what's needed but the only chance we will ever get to prove it is on a £35 computer game. Let's leave the judging until 4 May, when we know what football we'll be playing next season. Finally thought our support was piss poor last night. What we got was about as much as we deserved! My heart goes out to the Stokies in the Seddon Stand who tried unsuccessfully to get some vocal backing for the team. One lad was standing asking everyone around him, what are you, a bunch of cardboard cut-outs or something. There must have been more atmosphere in the average living room.

Baggies fan here, and I come in peace. Honestly! Some of you may know me off westbrom.com Anyway, I've got to say, the negativity of your fan base when something like that happens is an absolute fucking joke. Yet you are quick enough to jump on our band wagon and quickly highlight areas where we have gone wrong! One of your clowns came onto our board the other day, accusing us of playing superb passing football, but absolutely zero penetration for attack. Whilst this may have been PARTLY true at Wembley, you seem to forget that we are the top scorers in all of the leagues at the moment. And most of that came from playing the type of football that most pundits across the land are calling "The best in the Championship!"

whilst I agree that TP does like the stlye we play and he would stick to it reguardless of the quality we have I do not believe you can get to where we are in the table through luck . Fuller and Lawrence in particular have scored some fantastic individual goals for us this season and I don't think you'd say that the bullet headers that have come from cort and shawcross were down to luck .

Spot on Richard Parker, and the second goal came from all 11 being in the box as well as there was no one to contest the ball out of the area leaving with the palace lad all the time in the world to amble back casually and deliver the ball back into our box.
No outlet and keeps the pressure back on us.
As for luck, yes I agree its a massive part of Pulis game plan. Sit deep and hope that the opposition don't hit a wonder goal or get a lucky penalty decision or bobble is just as importannt as us getting lucky and actually haveing someone on the end of a punt who has been too tired to get back !!

It seems to me that we have 2 styles of play. The obvious Pulisism that we witnessed in the first half last night and the irresistible high-tempo that simply overwhelms other teams. Its this irresistible side that has garnered so many points this season, just ask Scunthorpe. Often I see us play like this for 10-20 minutes and when we get what we need, we stop and go back to Pulisism.
Sir Alex gets united to apply irresistible for 90 minutes. Tone only demands it when we're struggling. Why not demand it for 90 mins? We managed it for 30 minutes last night and almost snatched a draw against the meanest defence in the championship. So what are we on??!

Fuck me, it's turning into a dingles convention. Fuck off back to your pies and gravy you scruffy Yam Yam cunts, and remember that regardless of last nights performance, or any other point you may wish to comment upon, we are still above both of your teams in the table, neither of your teams has beaten us and no matter how bad things get at Stoke, at least we ain't dirty fucking dingles. Four games left, come back when it's over, but for now, you can both go and fuck yourselves.
