I can honestly say I've never felt so emotional writing one of those intros. It sounds ridiculous but I was holding back the tears earlier because I feel like we've blown it. And there can only be one man to blame I'm afraid.

Can't argue with much of that Grapey either. I can't understand how if Mama wasn't fit enough to even be on the bench last week he starts tonight and if Cort, as has been suggested could hardly walk after the Sheff Wed game (and couldn't even take part in the Go-Karting this week) why would you start him. Even when he's fit Shawcross is twice the defender Cort is anyway!

I know knob all about tactics and am quite open about it but playing Griffin on the right was stupid and and and... I said it before kick off... and then we lost.

It was like he was on a mission to make as many unnecessary, downright bizarre selections as he could. The managerial equivalent of Brewster's Millions? Got to admit, I briefly felt a bit tearful walking from the match with an empty feeling in the pit of my stomach.

Me and you agreed beforehand, FM, that he was setting himself up for a big fall if he didn't start with his best players.
He didn't and he fully deserves all the criticism he'll get tonight and tomorrow. Like you say, it's not as if he made one odd decision, arguably half his team was wrong!

"Got to admit, I briefly felt a bit tearful walking from the match with an empty feeling in the pit of my stomach. " Is that cos you owe me £23 for the pleasure of watching the next installment of "Tony Pulis fucks promotion up"?

LS1 Have you changed your opinion of Cort then ?? I remember getting grief from you when we signed him and thought we'd paid far too much for an average defender ??

Speaking of getting tearful, I want to cry the more I think about us paying £1 million for Cort, and giving Palace a far better defender, Clint Hill, in the process.
Straight from the Alan Ball school of management that one.

Was that on here or TT quo? I've changed my mind on him quite a few times to be honest! I heard nothing but good things about him when we signed him and having seen him a fair few times myself, I was pretty happy we'd signed him.
I watched his first few games and thought it was the most expensive mistake in our history but then he started scoring, we started winning, and he won me over again. I soon realised that his goals were papering over some pretty large cracks, though, and wouldn't have him anywhere near the defence now.
It's no bloody wonder he never gets booked because I can honestly say I haven't seen him make a tackle for us yet. Warnock got it spot on and I've got to hold my hands up and admit I was wrong, he's simply not good enough.

TD - I thought that I saw Warnock holding his back a lot tonight. Perhaps the stress of giving our star defender a piggy back up the M6 did some serious damage?
A defender who will not tackle and has had less bookings than Orville in recent years. And we made him our record transfer? It makes me want to cry to be honest.

LS1 I wish Pulis was as honest as you !!! It was on here. I thought we paid far too much considerng his age and the fact that at 29 he'd hardly set the world alight !!

After watching Cort's debut "performance" my mate said that we'd have been better off giving the £1 million to the KLF.

Honestly think he is the main reason why we are so soft at the back. He has no leadership skills and does not marshall his defence, in fact I feel his continual back tracking method of "defending" is contagious and it something the back four as a unit are doing more frequently. Get your fucking foot in lad!

The man's a fucking idiot and it's almost if he's trying to raise our hopes then dash them to make us look like knobs. He's a fucking idiot. It really looks as if he was trying to pick the worst defence and attack as he possibly could.

Me and another Stoke fan watched the game tonight with a neutral and the neutral was convinced that with a good half hour to go that Pulis had got his excuses lined up instead of trying to win the game with new tactics.

As post-match interviews and attempts to spin his way out of a managerial disaster of epic proportions go, his little tete-a-tete with Nige was as Cloud Cuckoo Land annoying and depressing as anything he produced under the Icelanders.
