This is probably the best squad we've had in years.
The money has been given to the manager in unprecedented amounts.
Quality players have been attracted by the lure of promotion.
Yet we have a manager that wouldn't know decent football if it jumped up and bit his nose off!
He simply can't handle skilful players.
He is CLUELESS.
Plan A is all he knows and it's been sussed out time and again.
Our current form is relegation form.
WHY?
Because a manager has to MANAGE, and Pulis can't!
We could have Ronaldo, Gerrard, Hleb and Essien, he'd still play hoofball.
What did he do when he took Sidibe off? Did he play a much preferred 4-4-2 along the ground with two skilful strikers?
Not Mr. Onetactic! He simply put Ameobi in Sidibe's position and changed NOWT!
WHY?
Because he can't manage!

Alan agree totally, we have some very good footballers who if the ball was played on the deck would be more than a match for anyone in this division. We need to mix the play up a lot more and we would reap the benefits.

I've said all along that we play good football occasionally DESPITE his "managerial skill", not because of it.

I hope this is a wind up for your sake. The only problem was the new players not being used to each other/team, we absolutely pist all over Palarse 2nd half, it was a laughable display by them, anyone who can praising Colin for that pathetic effort wants their head looking at. We could have won 20-2.

slangking, Can't agree with that mate, I thought Palace did a proper job on us and still managed to look a decent side while doing it. They were much the better team in the first half and were deservedly in front at the break. Second half they knew we would go at them so they sat deep and tried to expolit their far superior pace by hitting us on the break. To my mind it was THE classic away performance.

We started well enough but when we failed to get an early goal we more and more resorted to the long ball which was clearly not working so we tried another approach....oh no I forgot we just carried on pumping it long in the hope that something would happen it didn't and we lost.
The manager has no response if another tactic is required and why wait so long before brining Fuller on. Personally I would have had him on after 30 mins but at the very least he should have come on at half time, why wait another 8 mins?
And why play a midfielder at left back and keep him there when he is getting slaughtered?
And why play a centre forward who can't go past players as a wide midfielder and not only keep him there but then switch him to the left when he can only use his right foot?
But our manager does not see a big problem as the lads kept on going and it was just down to bad luck.

Same kind of 'job' we've done on teams countless times and it's ben called 'professional' and 'efficient'. Got into a 2-0 lead due to our incompetent defence and toothless strikeforce, sat back and tried to hit us on the break in the 2nd half.
According to Spinks' stats, they actually had 8 shots on target as opposed to our 7.
If they were lucky last night, what were we at Norwich?

Fact is when a team wins a game people start imaging all sorts of things about them deserving to win etc, they were crap and should have been hammered, only some sluggish forward play prevented it.

I just think you seem to be forgetting the amount of times their wide players cut through us and caused problems for our defence. As FM has said we have done it on many occassions and got wide applause from our support (including me) so it would be hypcritical to not applaud Palaces' efforts last night. It doesn't mean we are having a dig at our team or the manager (although I disagreed with his selections last night) it's just being honest.

So what does that say about us using your logic? I guarantee Palace will take points off one or both of them.

for all the huff and puff second half there were only 2 real one-on-one chances - Ric's and their lad's towards the end which he shot accross the face of goal.
We put plenty of ball in their box but rarely looked like slicing them open. Colin was right, the better team won. Sorry, but that's a fact. As for a flukey volley - you might as well say every single goal ever scored was flukey. Shame we seem to have forgotten how to score any kind of goal, never mind those of the flukey variety.
Was Whelan's volley flukey or doesn't that count? I presume the way their wide players murdered us at will was lucky, too?

Could have won 20-2...??? Err we lost... We were woefull in the final third (and midfield) last night, no one looked like following up in the 6 yard box (or even did), for all the huff and puff, we had few shots even on target

Re: A MANAGER HAS TO MANAGE A manager has to do many things to be a good one....... Tactics for each game have to be spot on, be creative in the transfer market and getting the best out of the players he has got. Thats a starter for 10. Pulis is only half way there of that in my opinion. I think his strong point is man management.....he does seem to get a bit extra out a player who is under his wing and a lot of the players look up to him and respect him for that. Time and time again this season he has proved to us that his tactics have been poor to say the least and its certainly not an enjoyable game of nogger to watch week in week out. Transfer market........he has brought some good names to the club over the last couple of years (not all successful). He has got us to 2nd in the championship but a majority of us still not on his side, I hope all that changes on May 4th . please...pretty please Come on Stoke

slangking - there's only one wind up merchant here, and I'm addressing him now.
Pulis has proved throughout his tenure that he doesn't know how to use GOOD players effectively - Gallagher left before kick off apparently, and who can blame him?
As for 20-2 .... did you actually go to the game?
Apart from Whelan's great goal, I can't remember more than twice that their keeper was even remotely troubled. He caught most crosses easily that weren't equally easily dealt with by his defence.
We play ONE TACTIC - it's not difficult to work it out.

3rd in a crap division.
As I've said earlier, with THIS squad a GOOD manager would have us 10 points clear.
He hasn't got a clue how to use good footballers.

Pugh and Griffin are ALWAYS at fault for our goals. Tone sticking with them has knackered us.
Team played ok, form is form though and that sheff wed game could prove to be vital. We hold on there , no miss kicks and no jumping in from Griffin, and we start winning.
But I still think 2 wins will do it, As long as we stay unbeaten, as thats how shit this division is.
But where will they come from?
