God, what a precious bunch of utter tools they were. Hopefully now singing their crappy songs-that-everybody sings stuck on some godforesaken motorway miles from home. Not endearingly giddy like York were, just possessing some sort of footballing god-complex based on the fact that in the 86th minute of a game they were 3-0 down in, they were still passing it in triangles with their keeper. "What's it like to see a paaarrrrsssss", you bunch of stuck up weapons. Have a look at our second goal, goalkeeper to your net in the blink of an eye with ace passing and finishing. They acted like jumped up plums when we actually were bad enough to be playing them in the league and I hated them then. Thank the lord we don't any more if that's what they attract. Face it Seagulls, we had a bye to the next round today and thank God that our 92/93 vintage aren't around in your league now as they too would wipe the floor with you. Perhaps when the going gets tough you can have a Fans United game again which just happens to be on the crunch day of your season against fellow relegation fodder, as you did all those years ago. Rant over. Good riddance to the know-nowts. TROUBLE WITH TAKING ON A BOARD MODERATOR IS THAT WHEN HE IS PROVED WRONG HE EDITS HIS POST CHEAT game again which just happens to be on the crunch day of your season against fellow relegation fodder, as you did all those years ago.

Bunny seems to have some personal historical issues with Brighton, but I would just like to say that the seagulls have had a long nasty problem with their ground issue, which is finally, thankfully for them ( and all visiting supporters who have had to endure the worst possible view at the Withdean) about to come to an end, and I wish them well in their new ground. I remember and appreciate the support which they gave to other clubs in trouble, particularly York.
I thought the away turn-out yesterday was good, considering the distance and the fact that the Cup will not be the seagulls main priority this season.
To go 2 down so quickly must have made it very difficult to generate an atmosphere, but they did OK. We must be wary of appearing precious and thin-skinned. I thought the what's it like to see a pass chant was an amusing piece of banter. There's plenty on this Board who have criticised our style of play themselves. And talk of teaching people a football lesson is a bit too billy big time for me.
My only concern about crowd chanting yesterday was a couple of outbursts of homophobic chanting, but fortunately it was not widespread and died out quickly, but we should still consign it, like racist chanting, to the dustbin of history.

We certainly aren't the only ones Sal., and I was actually slightly encouraged by the fact that it was very limited yesterday. I suspect that the Brighton fans will tell us that they often get far worse elsewhere.

The thing you Stoke fans probably didn't get is that we knew Gus wanted us out,he changed the spine of the team and played our comedy Keeper. We lost but we were never going to get to Wemberlee and have a bigger game on Tuesday. Gus will 'want out' soon enough mate Remember who you are and where you come from and you will always get a warm welcome at Stoke. Malcolm - I suggest you take a look at some of their comments about Stoke and Stoke on Trent leading up to this game on their message boards and understand why some of us here are more than happy to see the back of them. Of course they have many resasonable fans who have been there since their darkest days and they need to be commended - Shame some of their 'glory boys' seem to think they are the next Barcelona - BIG shock awaits them

Always make me laugh that any team who puts 3 passes together (normally in their own half) thinks they are Brazil 1970. Seems that all teams believe all the media rubbish that Stoke are just a pub team. The Brighton defender before the game had talked about passing Stoke off the pitch. What a joke. Yesterday was so easy it was embarrassing.
Maybe they should concentrate on practising heading the ball away from goal occasionally.

I thought they just came for a good day out , you are always going to get the minority that wind people up , but lets look at ourselves we have more than our fair share dont we , can remember singing we are going to win 6-5 to Manu last season when we was 5-0 down so whats the difference with them singing we are going to win 4-3 ??? live and let live, they are football fans the same as us !

Don't believe some of you people, they have a different accent and bring the biggest away crowd this season, winding up the opposition fans is all part of the course. Ffs grow up, they were loud and proud to be at the Brit, today, save your venom for Wednesday's gob shites who deserve it. Perhaps you should read some of the stuff on their message boards (before and after) you might have a different opinion I have - PMSL ;D ;D Deluded, so let them dream.

I thought that the Brighton fans were superb yesterday. You can't critisice them for not quite filling their end, it is a hell of a journey from Brighton and I thought it was a great turn out for a league one club. Their team did try to play football throughout the game but Stoke were strong and outplayed them. Stoke know how to mix their game to forge a result, Brighton were too one dimensional. I thought their 'we gonna win 4-3' was hilarious and so did they, they were taking the pee out of themselves not us. Their chant about about the 'parrs' was ridiculous and made them sound foolish. We shouldn't get wound up about them they are not in the same league as us, literally, why get upset. As for the farmer who put the Brighton flags on his gate, the farm was between Drayton and Loggerheads, you have made yourself look stupid and I hope you got off your backside and travelled the 12 miles to watch your team. Well done Stoke, good turnout Brighton, hope you come runners-up as my dad is from Bournemouth. Up the Potters!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know that BHA have had absolute tools in charge of their club Malcolm, and I fully supported their efforts to get rid of said tools and get themselves a ground in Brighton. Fact is, they've acted like they're Barcelona any number of times, either at Northwood Stadium or the Brit/Vic. That Fans United day was the day I didn't care what happened to them anymore. as for the chanting yesterday, I was in the Family Stand and didn't really hear anything. I presume it was block19 over the far side from us? Indeed, I hardly heard our support at all yesterday. as for us singing that 6-5 stuff at united. I'd prefer to have acheesegrater rubbed over my privates than sing such self-belittling nonsense. I may have gone a bit overboard in my iriginal post. In fact, no, no I didn't. It's a fanzine, not Hello magazine. I hope Brighton royally balls it up this season. Apologies if that offends.

"take your tongue out of Manu United's dirt box"
baffled to be honest. I presume you don't read my stuff in The Oatcake then?*
The p*** take over the Glazers, the slating of their club and its part in what football has become, the regular goes at the gloryhunters?
Oh, you simplky have picked up on the fact that I said their away support is probably the best in the country? Well, last 3 years at Stoke they've been the best support by a mile. Perhaps you should not be a sheep and hate them for what they are, and not for what they're not.
I detest the football club but doff my cap to their mainly Manc-based away support.
*not many do.

I thought they were quite good tbh, few fans remain in voicy support when 3-0 down and outclassed . Oh and for the record, we had 56% possesion compared to their 44%. So they can shuve their " whats it like to see a pass " joke up their not so tight arses

This is a bit of a gay thread. Surely the banter between clubs is what its all about.
If you cant stand getting a bit of rib may I suggest you are watch ing the wrong sport..
Lets not become all up ourselves just because we are enjoying a bit of success - leave the tantrums and "how dare you critisize our club", to United/Arse supporters.

banter? Were you there, it was cringeworthy.
I've watched the wrong sport for 36 years now at over 70 grounds. The last thing I rteckon I can't stand is a bit of rib. I just laugh at support like that yesterday, as I have done at some of the stuff we've come out with at times.
Tantrum? It's a post on a football forum about football.

Well not sure how many grounds I have been to in the 40 years I have been supporting the potters.
70 is some going though mate.
Hope the new wembley is one more you get to visit - wearing Stoke colours.
There is a reason we are getting so much criticism though.
Keep the faith and a sense of humour

Epic fail by their fans. As soon as they sang about seeing a "paaaarss", it's like our lads took it to heart and pinged it around their players like a training session. Pure piss-take.

BR,
didn't want that '70 grounds;'sh** to come over it did. Just fed up of Brighton fans always coming over as some JCL's who don't have a clue about supporting their TEAM.
3-0 down and they cliam the moral high ground. When we are getting hammered I take the medicine on offer and shut the f*** up or sing summat decent in homage to my club. Not 'ole' when my keeper has passed it to our full back.
I've come over a bit twattish on this thread, so I apologise, but I stand by every single word of my first post.

We came up and had a grand day out,the journey was easy-even the Aston Freeway-we got to Stoke, parked up at the cricket club and straight into the Power League for a few beers and banter with the locals. The place was rammed full of us and locals all wondering why the plod bothered showing their faces. Great stadium compared to the ones we are used to although I hold a soft spot for the Peterborough away TERRACE, and your fans were loud enough at times. We saw the team Gus had picked and realised(like against Woking earlier)his heart was not in it so we made the most of it and gave our team the support it deserved(crap fans go home when 3 down-did you see the "best fans in the world"leave when Arsenal went 3 up They didn't deserve to be there for the 4-4) we took the piss out of you-we took the piss out of us,we call it banter we call it having fun. Sorry if some on here were upset by it but those Stoke I spoke to after the game enjoyed their day and our contribution to it.
Supporting a football team can be fun if you let it. some on here should try it some time
P.S. is bunnyscfc a sad spotty Virgin with no mates and a bad Acne problem?
