Paid the price for over-caution in the first half. We play two attacking fullbacks and then they don't push forward, the midfield playing too deep, giving ground to them. Whelan is an attacking midfielder but is playing too deep, when he does get forward he can obviously shoot. I think we lost ,not through Warnocks tactics, but through a lack of direction on our part. Cresswell has had a lot of stick this season but he did well tonight. We were undoubtedly unlucky in the second half, but it was all battering ram stuff, very little subtlety. Oh well.
