I don't buy this 'glorious premierleague' bollocks either though. We'll get killed every week and treated like shit by all the tossers associated with that crap league. I won't be popular for saying this but I can see what that texter meant. Obviously the kiddies all love the premier league, but those of us who know football?

Our ticket prices are a great deal whatever divison we end up in. Talking to a Vale fan at work today who said that on a Vale website some prat said that he thought Bratt was a disgrace becuase he was hoping Vale's season ticket prices would be £130!! You'll never please everbody even if you gave the bastards away!

'but those of us who know football' ??? ??? ???
Absolutely- playing against some of the greatest players in the world not one for those who know football- games v Scunthorpe, Colchester etc is what the football purists want to see week in week out isn't it? Seeing Stoke back in the top flight, especially after shelling out so much money would be an absolute disaster wouldn't it???
If you care what a few pundits think over seeing Stoke play the Arsenals and Chelseas of this world then you are very deluded. I'm sure Fulham and Bolton fans who have actually been there might beg to differ if the Premiership rug is pulled from beneath them. ???
Maybe they just don't know football unlike yourself

I think if I was a Bolton or Fulham supporter I'd want to be relegated...
Let's try to finish 17th! Woooooooooooo what an exciting prospect.
It's a different world to when we were last there, and not in a good way.

Can kid yourself all day
You obviously know football and others don't
'It's a different world to when we were last there'
Well you're right if you claim we would finish 17th
If we do go up you can always cheer the opposition on every game and hope we get relegated at the end of it so we can return to the current glory days ??? ??? ???

I'm not kidding myself, I hate the Premier League and all it stands for. I'd be pretty weak to change my mind on that just cos we might well be playing there next season.

Fair enough- what is the point in us chasing promotion then in your book? I take it you would rather we blow it and be left with a huge financial loss and the prospect of starting from scratch in this division?
Because you have that view of the PL doesn't mean you know football and others don't. It means you have a different opinion that's all. Bit of an arrogant way of putting it. The rewards of the Premiership are vast and sure we'll lose games but how you can honestly believe teams are better off out of it is beyond me.
Wanting us to fail to suit your opinion an odd stance and hope you're disappointed. Personally would love to see us back amongst the football elite and doing well but hey.
Agree is completely different from last time we were there- 5-6000 gates v Norwich/Coventry etc are a thing of the past in the top flight.

I don't want us to fail, I want to cheer on a championship winning season for sure. However, I have to admit that getting relegated the following season wouldn't really bother me.

Im 18 years old and for a long period of my 12 years watching stoke i saw some absolutely terrible teams in league 1, the day stoke got relegated against man city in 98 i cried. we were going nowhere, 10 years on we have something to fight for, we have the chance to get into the top flight. id do anything for stoke to be playing quality teams like arsenal week in week out, i like to watch good football matches. if we are the whipping boys then its not much fun, but i don't think that pulis or particularly coates would allow that to happen. Coates won't want to see his money invested in the likes of cort, shawcross and whelan go to waste, he will want to invest more to keep stoke up should we get there. im also sure that if you asked the majority of stoke supporters where they would rather be watching a game next season, they are more likely to say old trafford than layer road!
