I suppose it'd be slightly better if they won, and had all the hoopla of the Final to distract them over the next month. With them getting measured for Cup Final suits, faced with the prospect of a realistic chance of winning it, and not wanting to get injured, it'd have to be good news for us. But is it possible they'd get carried along on a wave of success and optimism with the buzz around the club? If they lost, maybe that'd hit them hard too, with all the fans starting to think 'oh no, we're going to balls it all up again' and all the players on a downer. Typical Albion etc. Either way, they're going to be affected. I think I'm hoping for a Baggies win.....just.

3 or 4 injuries to key players and suspensions that affect their future league games will do nicely ;D

Got to be a 2-1 Pompey victory - the winner in the 93rd minute via a shambolic defensive mix-up or OG just to really deflate them and send them scurrying back to Rio de Smethwick ....please.

As Fullermagic mentions, its a difficult one to call. A few injuries could be good though. Isn't it this Saturday that suspensions cease unless it is a straight Red card. Seem to think that someone mentioned weeks ago that if Ricardo could hang on to his 10th booking until after April 5th. Might be wrong though. Will enjoy WBA coming up here to a cold blustery blackpool on Tuesday evening, and losing.

A Baggies win.
It will obviously distract them, they didn't get a tackle in against Bardiff.

Got to be hoping for a West Brazil defeat. Don't think I could stand seeing them in an FA Cup Final. Portsmouth v Barnsley final will do nicely.

I reckon they'll beat Pompey.....'n' then go and lose in the 'unfashionable' league fixture at B'pool.
That's fine by me.

Obviously it would be terrible if Gera or Phillips were to get injured and be ruled out for the rest of the season, so we don't want that I want the Baggies to win - good distraction for a few more weeks.

To be honest Pompey must be rubbing their hands- they'll never get an easier chance of winning a major trophy
As for Albion- not concerned to be honest- we're well capable of finishing above them so what happens happens. If we don't go up will be down to us dropping points-
Always had a soft spot for Pompey- they should win this one no excuses. The Wembley semi final thing looks a complete farce-
Pompey 3-1

I fookin hate the Brazillians, but if they do make it through it will definately distract them.
Im surrounded by Saints fans here too who are dismayed by their club's shiteness, so a Pompey win could be quite funny.
More importantly though with the Brazillians actually thinking they have a chance to win the final, I'd take a win for them. The ONLY time I want them to win....then they get to the final where Barnsley smash FIVE past the Samba Boys.

A win for West Brazil, after extra time and a stamina-sapping replay of course, will deffo distract them. That's provided that the game doesn't get abandoned after 37 minutes due to the pitch being "jizz-logged" by the assembled media

I'd quite like to see them to get thumped by a middling Prem outfit, just to go some way towards dispelling this myth that they're already well-equipped to cope in the top flight.

How's thing Jon ? Any plans to return? Let's be honest Pompey play some of the best football on the deck so no excuses for our strange talking friends up the road after being bullied, the pitch etc etc etc The Baggies defensive impressions of the Easter Island statues at set-pieces must be a worry for Pompey. Just for the record I stand to win a very large sum of money if Pompey win the cup- backed them from R3. Couldn't have worked out nicer- WBA in the semi then the mighty Barnsley or Cardiff in the final Don't let me down Harry

I'll be in China next month and Thailand in November if that helps?

Result - slight preference for Baggies to be defeated and demoralised.
3 other criteria to judge the outcome by:
1 Extra time is a must, penalties will make them event tireder
2 Injuries - nothing career-threatening but lots of hamstrings
3 Mass brawl leading to 5 game bans for Philips, Gera and Bednar (but any 3 will do)
Not much to ask is it?
