I thought the rule was that it was only an own goal if the ball was not on target and it hit another player. Jones headed it, and it hit Jagielka (spelling?)
So why does the goal not belong to Jones?
It may have bounced over, but the issue hasnt even been debated.
Thanks

Jagielka twatted it in to his own net. In my book that consists of an own goal being scored.

No I mean Jones, the ball was flicked on by Jones, and the Everton defender under pressure got the last touch. I dont think Fuller even touched it.

I have no idea, I think it was an own goal because of the fact that Jones didn't put it anywhere near the goal and it was a good 6 yards from it as a result.

I don't think it counts as a deflection if you swing your foot at it in the direction of the goal

Do you guys agree that the Jones header was at least on target? It wouldnt have gone it, but that is besides the point.

It was an own goal as the ball wouldn't have gone it but for Jagielka's involvement. If a shot is on target and takes a deflection there is the possibility the original shot could have gone in, in this case the ball wouldn't have gone in without Jagielka hitting it

Imagine fuller and Jagielka (and therefor the touch from Jagielka) weren't there, just Howard.

Dit it not hit his shoulder? Dit? And hit who's shoulder? Jones's shoulder or Jagielka's? Jones flicked it on and Jagielka full on twatted it into his own net I actually can't believe this is being questioned, it's unreal. I imagine you've questioned if Jones should be awarded his headed goal in the first half if you've been so dim as to question if the 2nd goal was an owl goal or not Jesus.Fucking.Wept..

Jagielka basically shot the ball into his own net, how the fuck is that NOT an own goal?

In fact, of all the own goals I've ever seen, that one was probably up there with "the most blatant own goals ever".

Jagielka basically shot the ball into his own net, how the fuck is that NOT an own goal? Because it magically bounced off his shoulder? [insert arse and elbow type joke here]

It was a great finish by Jagielka, just where the keepers don't like 'em.

Jones' flick on was NOT going in. So how can Jones claim it?

It was an own goal because he hit it into his own net...... it was never going in until he botched it.....

What is the point of this thread? Anyone who has seen the goal knows it was a clear own goal. Jones just looped his header into the box before it was smashed in style into the back of the net. Fuller never got a touch. Can someone tell me if manofdunland is really a premiership referee judging by his poor vision and views of the rules.
