He's an asset certainly, what with his connections and everything.
Whether he is worth what we're paying him is debatable.

Hmm is Fergie really a Rudge contact? I look around and see many of Manures up and coming youngsters being loaned out to loads of teams and as I can recall we've only managed 2 in the last several years. I hear he has a good knowledge of gardening but it hardly qualifies him for a slot on gardeners world does it?
edited just for those who can't be arsed to keep up

Spiderman, What a wind up nerchant you are...
Rudge as been involved in football for 45 years, backroom side for 25 of them 45. His wealth of experience in league football is something that we should be very greatful of. He know people in the industry, like Fergie and such like. He knows this division and knows how to build a stable team.

“Spiderman, What a wind up merchant you are.” Take a few seconds to read my previous post. So he professes to know Fergie, hardly a surprise there I bet there’s 100’s of other managers/coaches/directors of football that say exactly the same thing, Fergie is a bit famous in the world of football

Certainly is a big asset to the club. People don't realise the amount of work involved, especially with new players. For instance, when a players signs he will need a lot of help, somewhere to live or in the case of loan players somewhere to stay. The need to familiarise themselves to the area, schools for their kids have to be found. People like John will help them. Their are dozens of issues that need dealing with. It's not just about signing players and hey presto they just turn up on the day with their boots! Being an ex-manager he's also very experienced all round and just the sort of guy any club needs.

Come on then Spider. Whats your job and can you justify your wage. I'm a superhero I do it for free, I'm also a part time freelance journalist/photographer. This aside I’m just asking what other peoples opinions are, I am as yet to say what mine is on Rudgey.

Ah, this old chestnut. I thought we hadn't moaned about something for a couple of minutes.
He has brought in people like Shtaniuk, Hoekstra, Gallagher through his contacts. And he brokered the deal which took Foster to Man Utd, which gave us a massive profit and probably more than comfortably justified his existence at the club.

Why start a post without giving your opinion?
Bit pointless don't you think? Or don't you have an opinion on this topic?
Rudgey not a waste of a wage in my opinion... what's yours we are all dying to hear

Threads are not always started to air ones own opinion, sometimes they are there to stimulate debate and find out what opinions other supporters have, also to give others a platform to voice their opinion. Surely that’s not too difficult for even you to understand oh illiterate one.

Not difficult to understand at all even for me but , I would still like to know your opinion, or don't you class yourself as a supporter?
You usually don't have a problem giving your opinion looking at other posts.

You usually don't have a problem giving your opinion looking at other posts. There’s no space before a comma. What’s me being a Stoke supporter got to do with it, as I have posted many times (I’m sure you knew anyway as you’ve already made a comment about it today) I am a ST holder of many years who attends many away games. I don’t have a problem giving my opinion but on this occasion I’ll reserve them for the time being.
