Blackburn Rovers v Stoke CityGood luck to Steve Kean, who has been made Blackburn manager for the rest of the season. He will know all about their players and the inner workings of the club after working as Sam Allardyce's first team coach since August 2009. I still find the decision to sack Allardyce very, very strange and I am not convinced by whoever is advising Blackburn's new owners on football matters. Sam would have kept Rovers in the Premier League comfortably, which would have guaranteed another £35m-£40m payment next August, and survival has to be the most important thing. Hopefully Kean will be successful but nobody can be sure. He represents a gamble because he has not been a manager before. He only needs one or two key players to have a dip in form, or a couple of suspensions or more injuries like Phil Jones and he could be in trouble. Stoke on the other hand are a good example of how to run, and manage, that sort of Premier League club. Year on year Tony Pulis adapts their style slightly and looks to slowly build on what he has got. They are below Blackburn in the table at the moment, but they will be fine in terms of staying up. I can see this one ending up a draw and, as far as Boxing Day entertainment goes, I don't think it is going to be near the top of the list. Prediction: Blackburn Rovers 1-1 Stoke CityMark Lawrenson's 2010-11 Premier League predictions, together with how the League Table would look like if his predictions were correct... www.myfootballfacts.com/Mark_Lawrensons_Predictions_2010-11.html

To be honest a draw wouldn't be a bad result at all, even if they are in turmoil at the moment. If we could follow it up with a win against Fulham on the 28th, 4 points would be a good return.

i'll go for a unshockingly unentertaining 0-0, Kean won't want to lose his first match in charge and pulis won't want to lose against kean playing his first match in charge.

Actually, last years 0-0 was a very entertaining game at their place with both teams playing some good nogga and trying to go for the win

I'd expect something like that. I'm hoping for a win to break the December duck, but 1-1 is probably the most likely score.

This game could be so poor that it may well tear a hole in time.

This game could be so poor that it may well tear a hole in time. On the other hand, it could be like our home game against them, which was one of the best Premier League matches of the past 12 years. Definitely in the top ten, with our win at Liverpool probably just edging above that game between Liverpool and Newcastle a few years ago. 2/10/10 - A day to remember as Stoke and Blackburn put on a glorious exhibition of football.

This game could be so poor that it may well tear a hole in time. Well nothing can be worse than when we played you away last year and your pathetic attempts at hoofball along with putting 10 men behind the ball. At least we do it successfully and with a bit of pace. Do Sunderland fans really think they play like Barcelona?

Point would be ok - but I have a sneeky suspicion that we'll win this one. I also think that Blackburn will either get relegated, or be lucky not to!
