Griffin needs fucking off from right back. He's been constantly caught out of position on the right since his return. Put Wilko at right back and either Dicko or Griff leftback.

None of us know for definite the best combination, but we need to stick to one, injuries and suspensions excepted. How many times has Dicko come in, played well, only to disappear from the squad completely in the next game?
Personally I would have this as our optimum line up + subs:
Nash L
Griffin Cort Riggott L Dicko
Lawrence Delap Whelan Pearson L
Ameobi L Fuller
Subs:
Simmo Shawcross Pugh and two (only one L ;D ) from Cresswell/Bothroyd L/Sidibe/Gallagher L

abp1 - just shows how different people see the game differently. I'm amazed that you have chosen to keep Griff at right back and equally amazed that you picked Cort ahead of Shawcross. Otherwise, I like your team!

I don't see as many games as others do, so have missed Griffin's recent disastrous slump - at Watford he seemed ok. Experience and ball distribution edge it for me, plus I prefer Dicko at LB to Wilko at right. Although I do think Griffin can play better on the left as per last season, wasn't he playing there for Derby? ???
Shawcross can give away silly fouls which can be costly - but I wouldn't be gutted if it was him playing the goalscoring centre half role alongside Riggott rather than Cort.
I bet Gallagher is a bit pissed off - reduced to possible sub! Just hasn't happened for him this time has it?

No it hasn't happened for Gally. I think he should have made a permanent move to a Championship club after the season he spent on loan here - or certainly at the end of last season. He hasn't had the benefit of playing week in week out since the season he spent with us under Bozzie. As a result (in my opinion) he isn't the player he once was. He was a fringe player in the Premiership and he now looks like a fringe player in the Championship. Pity, but we can't be sentimental. Not many Stokies at Hillsborough would put Gally in next week ahead of Pearson.

Gally is still quality and I think given a couple of games start could of been a bigger asset to us than he currently is.

Hmm interesting choices.... I would go for..
Nash (L) Wilko Riggott (L) Shawcross Griff
Lenny Delap Whelan Pearson (L)
Riccy Shola (L)
Subs:
Simmo Cort Pugh Gally (L) / Bothroyd/ (L) Cressy
I take it that Diao is probably out for the rest of the season? and what about Mama?, is his season over too? because I will be interested to see what TP does if he comes back with his forward line, because you cannot drop Riccy or Shola surely?

I would keep Griff in at Right back but take the captians arm band off him. I think the responsability of it is getting to him and he is trying to hard, resulting in some mistakes.
Free of the captaincy burden I think we will see a better Griff. Whilst he is only on loan I would like to see Riggot take over the armband as he seem to be the only one telling players to calm down on Saturday and trying to stop the panic.

If we need to play 5 - Wilko - shawcross - riggot - cort - Dicko
With 4 Defenders Wilko - shawcross - riggot - Dicko
If Dicko Or Wilko Are Going to play they need one of them on the other full-back to help. They are two strong full-backs!
