I have decided to compile a comprehensive history of all the major season changing lucky breaks Stoke City have had since formation in 1863:
as you can see I have been very thorough
please feel free to add any of the many lucky beaks I have ommited.

1979, paul richardson trips over a turf sod and falls into the ball, inadvertantly sending the ball into the back of the net, sending them to promotion, 15,000 plus Stokies stand in silence as they don't know how to react to anything like this

OK the ball went in off Oulare's arse in THAT play off game - huge luck in our favour right?
well surely thats more than counterbalanced by the astonsihing injury record that season not least by Oluare himself ("the second divisions very own Kimmy Floyd Hasselbaink") suffering near death with heart problems with DVT.
If you check under Stoke City: Luck subsection Oulare its filed under bad (very)

My great great great grandfathers uncle (on my mums side) remembered us getting lots of 50-50 decisions in a pre season game (July 1892)
This story has been passed down through several generations of trebors so the facts may have been distorted throughout the years!

I've got an extensive list of examples of luck for us. None of it can be filed under the section 'good'. Nevertheless, it's an impressively long list.

My great great great grandfathers uncle (on my mums side) remembered us getting lots of 50-50 decisions in a pre season game (July 1892) This story has been passed down through several generations of trebors so the facts may have been distorted throughout the years! we lost that game 1-0 when the keeper cleared the ball with a high goal kick, it got struck by lightning and flew into our net... our best 3 players died from the shock. but yeh, we did get a few 50/50 decisions.
