After the last two months of playing like Wankershire United with absolutely no sign of improvement i just wondered if people were genuinely optimistic or just full of bravado.Im not saying throw in the towel its just that i cannot see any light at the end of the tunnel. ???

Well if you had have been there yesterday you would have seen a great improvement on our last six performances.
First half should have seen us wrap the game up, unfortunately Ameobi did not take his shooting boots to the game but showed enough to suggest he and Fuller could be the answer to our goal famine.
Although he scored cressie should have killed the game off and will surely make way for Fuller next match. Lets just hope that Fuller comes back and plays better than Liam did, poor poor game by his standards.
Griff, sorry to say but he should be benched, didn't play all that well and didn't cover himself in glory over their goal.
Pearson, what a signing he could turn out to be if yesterday was anything to go by. He seemed to have that magical ingredient, pace, something we have missed all season.
Add to that a defo not given penalty and the other results and it made it a bad day for us but maybe, just maybe we have turned the corner or at least started to play something like.
One thing i would say is that we lack a natural leader out on the pitch. I am sure Pulis did not want us playing so deep in the last quarter but we had no-one to ensure the players pushed up another 20 metres.
Palarse next, for me this IS the deciding game of our remaining ones, win it and i am sure it will give the players the vital lift they need after two poor months. Draw or lose and i am sure the best we can hope for is a playoff place, however, i feel more confident on how we would perform in those, especially with the last two signings fully bedded in.
Oh almost forgot, never been a big fan of Corts but he played really well yesterday.

League position means nothing, our recent bad run began away at Preston when they were in the bottom 3, look how they are playing now, they would fear no one in this division. There are no stand out teams in this division, anyone can beat anyone. I thought we put in a decent performance yesterday, sadly, we didn't look the same after Pearson went off, how people on here are going on, you would think we had one effort, and were lucy to get a point!
On the way home yesterday, on Talksport, it was said that Sunderland were going to Spain fo a few days. I think this would be a great idea for Stoke at the moment. A few days of team building in the sunshine, a chance to revitalise the squad. This period now is where TP earns his money, he has got to keep the squad thinking positive, promotion is still in our own hands.

I'm in a weird state of mind, still genuinely optimistic but deeply unconvinced by most of what I've been seeing on the pitch. But then we're all going to be clinically insane by the end of the season whether we go up or not, get used to it
