So dissapointed in our full backs last both going forward and defending crosses.
How many times did Pennant have the ball well forward with no support. Huth twice was standing 25 yards behind him and totally unmarked. Did he move towards him like any normal fullback. Similarly Collins supporting Etherington. They dont want and offer the midfield any support wide . Very poor and until we change them then things will still be awkward.

kev, we don't have any full backs! Just 2 centre backs filling in.

I'd have to disagree. Last night was the most supportive I've seen our "full backs" to our wingers. Birmingham didn't know what to do with the Berlin Wall galloping forward. Tone even had a go in extra time because Huth was in their area. Normally I'd agree, but not last night.

Huth was many people's MOTM and scored....
As for Collins, he got forward well and overlapped but Matty had a poor game and was caught in possession on more than a couple of occasions leading to counter attacks

Huth was immense last night. I agree that the full backs do not support the wingers at times, but that surely is under the instruction of Pulis. Huth was my man of the match along with whitehead

I thought Collins actually supported Matty very well last night, particularly in the first half. He made a number of overlapping runs that Matty used to either play him in or use as a decoy to run into space, but sadly it was Matty that let us down on the left-hand side last night. He got into some great positions but his delivery was shocking at times in comparison to his usual excellent service.
As for the right-hand side, it just gets more frustrating the longer it goes on seeing our best centre half played out of position! With Ryan missing Abdy and Higgy had liability written all over them at times with their lack of pace, and in Wilko we had somebody readily available to slot in at right-back who has the pace and stamina to get forwards and support his winger. Hopefully TP will have seen another shaky perfomance by Abdoulaye and will finally put Huth in the middle where he should be and play two proper full-backs.

I think this would have been better if written about our wingers not supporting the full backs, particularly down the right side. Jermaine Pennant seems to forget that he needs to work back as well as forward and TP appeared to be reminding him on more than one occassion last night.
