TP you really are a gentleman if that was Fergie he would have surrounded the ref along with his players and abused him all the way to the changing room. Maybe that's where we're going wrong. God I hate that arse Bruce I'm sure we;ll get some condesending interview tonight from him.

Robbed by refs yet again, we weren't good but neither were Sunderland. Difference was the decisions made by the ref, very poor on every count.
How the hell are we supposed to compete in this league with 6 or 7 bad decisions in 11 games that were game changing moments?
I feel physically sick and really can't work out what we have to do to get a vague chance of winning a game. I am not on about the poor defending here, just want a chance of playing on an even playing field

Stoke should have been given a penalty, but Sunderland not.

Someone must be aware of the lopsided decisions this season. Spurs goal over the line - Not given Man you - Neville not sent off / Ryan sent off Sunderland - goal over the line and handballed. No goal no pen no sending off Everton - Tuncay goal dissalowed of course they know about it but they dont care they dont want us there! There has been proof that there has been cheating going on in the scottish league by their refs this is just as blatant. We should sue the refs association for discrimination if we go down due to them

Why do we wait until 65 minutes to start putting a team under any kind of pressure? Why do we have the best header of the ball in the league and put in no crosses from open play? Why do we seem unable to retain possession of the ball for more than 30 seconds? Yeah, we should definately get a penalty, with the score still at 1-0 ... From one of the views it appears Atkinson has a good view. However, but for a great penalty save it would have been 2-0 anyway. Yeah, we are having absolutely no luck and yeah, quite a few refereeing decisions are not getting given where they appear to be for other teams. But, the standard of our play - unlike the last 3 games - was very poor today. Rory must get back into this team, and so must Ricci - You can take your pick of Jimmy Pennant or Tunk for the RW spot. We have to get back to feeding Kenny with crosses and putting pressure on teams from set-pieces. For all the nice words from the pundits and the hard-luck stories, we have to get back to being nasty-old-Stoke. And very soon.

In a nutshell we played poorly but could and maybe should have got a point from the game
Shawcross had to go and was at a time when we were pushing very hard and that cost us any hope
We didn't once get a ball in from wide positions apart from corners and twice Jones had headers 'cleared' off the line. IF you give him service he will score goals but today we rarely did
Tuncay had little impact on the game as did Etherington as Sunderland marked them well.
Shame we didn't see Pennant at some stage but easy to be a wise ass after the event
All in all our worst performance since Wolves

I still can't believe that BBC are going on about the bad decisions, I will believe it when the MOTD team carry on and agree about the decisions. Apparently Cattermole is about to come out and give an interview - bet the twat doesn't agree he was a lucky cunt to still be on the pitch

Bizarrely the highlight show here didn't show the handball only the second one off the line
Some great games today and a few real late goals

Well now! Blatant hand ball on the line by Cattermole, and you won't find a Sunderland fan never mind anyone else question that. Although it may be a good time to remind ourselves of this... Absolute bitch, that Karma, like!

I'd say read the whole thread, Captain ... but 26 pages is probably going a bit far, eh Someone did mention Mr Pugh and his brilliant headed clearance about a minute after Cattermole did awfully well to head this one off the line. What goes around comes around, fella. We were shocking today ... Your new striker looked like he might be worth at least half of what you shelled out for him - And he was the difference.

Aye you are spot on. People here will bitch about the ref, and we'd be the exact same, but ultimately the difference between the teams was Asamoah Gyan. First time we have really seen him and I thought he was absolutely outstanding. Thought he and Welbeck caused you no end of trouble.

I honestly couldn't see if it was over the line from where I was. I will look forward to seeing the replays. If it was blalatent then there will be plenty of pictoral evidence to shove up my arse on here I am sure. I did see the net bulge and move, but it looked fairly clear that it was Cattermole who moved it.
