Howay then, lets seperate the men from the boys. You are our esteemed leader for today/tomorrow only.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
You're like a dog with two dicks, both of your loan targets came off and you have a fresh looking squad. You are sir, fucking triffic.
There has been a zip about training today, no other reported injuries. Everyone is fit. Two new faces. My best squad ever. And Ive done 650 games, what Ive ALWAYS wanted.
The Chairmans just been in to see you, he looks a worried man, best part of 200K of his hard-earned on two loanees who can only play a maximum of 9 game each, and thats if you get to the play-off final. But you know that would be fucking disastrous. No sir, the chairman doesnt want the play-offs. You can only throw it away, you know that, the nation knows that. No so triffic now, Jesus, this is hard, I now know why leading managers like Pardew and Mowbray and Magilton are grey and not even 45 !!!
The wee lass in the ticket office just popped by, best part of 3000 sold for Wednesday and the other 700 will shift so nearly 4000 Stokies will be present. Fucking hell, we owe them after Watford and Preston. Nowt worse than being called a dick-head on that bleeding fan site. Should ban the bastards from watching us train. Just like that other leading manager, Rodent .....
Oh fuck, that mincer from The Championship has just phoned, we're the featured game again tomorrow. What sort of name is Gabriel?? Jesus, I'm still having nightmares about Watford. The nation will be watching, we're top, we need to put a show on. Or do we? Fuck them. This is a results business. One point will do, three would be just the tonic we need and probably keep St Peter down the corridor for another week at least ....
And who is this nonce from the bleeding Sunday Mirror sending me "Alan Pardew's Wonderful Guide to Expansive Football" in the post this morning. He can get stuffed as well.
THE REALITY
Right muckers, Ive set the scene.
Name your starting XI and your subs. Factoring in suspensions and reported injuries, ie Cort, Diao, Mamma.
And whats your game plan and your system. Do you do a Watford? Do you do a Wolves?
And whats your minimum expectation from this fixture, must win or daren't lose.
Off you go. Mine to follow when Ive done some work, I havent struck a bat today I'm so excited.

haha GeordieDave, what a top notch post and when you put things like that you really do begin to realise what stress TP must be under My team would be: Nash Pugh Riggott Cort (presumably fit) if not Zakuani Griffin Pearson Whelan Delap Lawrence Ameobi Mama I'd tell them to go out with an attacking attitude (aka Wolves) and if those dirty Yorkshire men score 3 then we are scoring 4!!!! haha should do the trick!!!!! GOOOOOOOAAAAAARRRRRRNNNNNN STOKE!!!!!!! believe boys we are going up!!!!!!!!!!

Nash
Griff . Cort . Riggott . Dicko
Lenny . Whelan . Delap . Bothroyd
Ameobi . Mama
Subs: Simo . Wilko . Pearson . Gally . Cresswell
Obviously thats if Mama and Cort make the game, if not, Wilko would move to centre half and Zak would cover him on the bench. Cresswell would start up front and Pugh would take his place on the bench.
Personally I would try and knock the stuffin out of Sheff as soon as possible. Go at them from the word go, using Lenny and Bothroyd as early on as possible. If its not working at half time, unless someones injured or playing particularly well/poor, Id get Mama off, Bothroyd up front with Shola and Stick Gally left wing and hope he can do summat magic.
IMO we need to win this game. A draw is no longer a 'good point' away from home, but 2 points dropped.

I agree. We have to win this game if we want to go up "early" and avoid a must-win/hope others fuck it up kind of game against Leicester. A draw isnt necessarily a disaster but it will probaly/possibly see us drop from top. Again, that in itself is not a disaster but I'd prefer to be top with five left and a home game up next.
We have to be positive, and thats why I'm struggling. And I think Pulis will struggle too. With Bothroyd, Pearson and Ameobi joining the squad he simply wont know his best XI for this game. Its come round too soon. That said this shouldnt detract from the task in hand, send us out set up right, set up to win, and to do that we need to attack.
Our defence picks itself really doesnt it. You can perm four from six. I'm not overly concerned about defence. Riggott and Nash have tightened it up. Cort for me over Zac. I dont like Pugh at LB so I'd opt for Dicko.
Its MF and up top where I'm struggling.
Jesus, TP must be shitting blood.
Lenny, Whelan, Delap, Bothroyd/Pearson
Ameobi/Mamma
Subs: Simmo, Wilko, Pearson/Bothroyd, Gally, Pugh
Cant get my head around the left flank. You can even make a case for Pugh.
Harsh on Cresswell, doesnt make my 16.
A great position to be in, but slightly worrying that we don't really know our bext XI with six left. Lets hope Pulis saw enough in training to know his bext XI.
Fitness concerns over Ameobi/Pearson also come into play.

nash
griff cort riggot pugh
lawrence delap wheelan pearson
ameobi
gally subs: dicko, bothroyd, mama, wilko, simo
id tell them too bloody go and win this game, make sure lawrence and pearon attack using the wings, and make sure the fullbacks support them, thats why i have choose pugh and griff the two most attacking fullbacks in my opinion.
if gally has an off day id stick boothroyd up top with him, wudnt like mama and ameobi playing together to much alike. obviously if ameobi has low match fitness mama would be the one to replace,
if cort couldnt play id stick wilko in the middle and put cresswell on bench, if mama also was still injured it would be cresswell on the bench

Nash Griff, Zak, Riggot, Dicko Liam, Whelan, Pugh Bothroyd Ameobi Mama Jay and Shola to use their pace either feeding off Mama flick on's or getting down the side of the centre halfs after Mama has sucked them in. Three in the middle to play against Wednesdasy three as unless Kav has had a massice change in styles, he will be floating round picking the ball off the Wednesday centre halfs. Liam can play a bit narrower given that the width can be provided by Bothroyd and Pugh and Whelan can protect the middle. Dicko at left back as he is more of a natural defender with a defenders instinct and if Shola runs out of steam Pearson can come on wide left either reverting to 4-4-2 or keeping three up top. Dicko can provide the cover at left back given concern over Pearsons defending. Bench, Simmo, Pearson (see above) Wilko (to cover injuries across the back line) Rory (to switch to 4-4-2 or utilise his long throws for a last 20 min onslaught) and then Cresswell (given the number of loan players already selected) Get at Wednesday play high tempo and se the stall out early, get the Stokies in full voice roaring the team on and the 3 points is a guarantee !! Don't see what the problem is, its easy this managment lark

I like it, I'd play for you .....
I will bear you in mind if I got the job!!
Surely we have to go for it on the pitch as well as off it? so given Tony's comments surely thats what we will do tomorrow?
