He wont play against Bursaspor as he has an ankle injury..
His contract was meant to be discussed after the world cup but rooneys agent intimated rooney wanted to leave, Fergie couldnt believe it..
He's since met with rooney and rooney himself said he wants to leave..
Fergies asked him to stay professional and theres still a mass offer on the table..
Says they've done nothing but help rooney since he joined the club so its a mystery to him..
Have to keep the door open to him as he's such a good player..
This is one of the most successful clubs on the planet, we can speculate but it wont make any difference, player is adamant he wants to leave..

I don't know what he thinks he's doing but I'm 100% sure it's a mistake. Not that I'll shed any tears for them. But there will be Everton fans saying the writing was on the wall with his loyalty. Anyone who could leave them the way he did will always be a repeat offender. He will forever be thought of as a mercenary if he leaves like this and not someone who puts his club first... not that many of em do. |

Can ManCity afford him? I know they can afford transfer fee and wages, but it seems they are already above the wage limit to be able to go to Europe next season and need to lower it. Although I suppose they can change wages to 'image rights' as some clubs/players seem to use to supposedly avoid paying as much UK tax

I can understand if he wants to leave to protect his private life and start again so to speak. But that would be Spain or Italy or somewhere abroad. To stay in England and go to Man City (if he does) just comes down to one thing and one thing alone - wonga. He will protest re trophies etc but it is wonga
