With the money he has spent and the square pegs syndrome still prominent.
Tony Pulis is on dodgy ground,
If he takes us down as the current team will with Delap on wing ,Walters up front Huth fullback etc.
He will get the sack because the club will turn on him supporters and Coates.
PC will be well aware of the players atttributes and the budget he has spent.
Personally i think its a shame he has signed some great players,he just seems scared to play them correctly.

Stoke lad because the team he keeps putting out wont win enough games. Square pegs and roundholes.See how the league looks tomorrow night after we have drawn a shit newcastle side there for the taking onto us.
Strange how we kept a clean sheet Tuesday and scored twice with a team playing in their best positions mostly.
Surely you must have noticed what a diagonal ball acrooss our defence does ala Spurs and Villa.
If you havent every premiership manager will have,

What a truly ridiculous post for so early in the season
how a many games have we played ?
and having beaten fulham - aston villa and drawn, having rattled the woodwork three/four times against west ham
half a dozen all told ?
if he's on 'dodgy ground' its because he's a professional football manager - end of !
and he manages a football club with a truly wierd set of fans (well on here anyways)
pick your planet son (its difficult to know which one your actually on)
I reckon you're talking out of uranus though

Pulis is a clown and fraud, who consistently picks players that many of the fans don't agree with.
The list is endless, but two stick out. The first is carl hoefkens. Pulis had it in for him and look where he is now!!
Most recently there's tuncay, a man who scored a hat trick in the champions league at old Trafford. He was also a prominent player in that great middlesbrough side, and was chased by endless clubs before joining here. In the transfer windows clubs have been knocking the door down to get him.
He was voted man of the match on Tuesday after some great touches and a 40 yard volley that went in(to the keepers hands) The crowd love him for his goals to shot ratio.
Pulis you have consistenly played 4 centre halves and where's that got us. You've played cresswell out of position in the championship and look what happened.
I fear sir the knowledgble officinados on here have you Sussed. You have never taken a team down, but god knows how.!!
Note: sarcasm intended

It's early days but it doesn't look like there are any teams going to lie down and die. Liverpool and Everton won't be in the bottom 3 come the end of the season. Everyone is taking points from everyone at the minute, West ham have beaten Spurs, Baggies have beaten Arsenal, Newcastle have recorded good wins against Everton and Villa, Blackpool look capable of scoring against anyone. It's going to be very tight at the bottom and if the early indications are anything to go by we will most definatley need 40 to 45 points to stay up, 4 points from 5 games and going behind in every league game so far are very worrying stats.

Having seen the signings and the squad we now possess, Ive never felt more comfortable about us retaining our status in the top flight
That is not to say Im complacent but - to stay in, you only need to win ten games (the draws take care of themselves) if you can win the basic ten games / 30 points
does ANYBODY on here seriously doubt we cant win another 9 games ?

where's all this:- we might go down, 'shyte' coming from ? as I said -- WIERD ? I don't think it is "shyte" tony. I'm not saying we will go down, but the statement is no more "shyte" than the idea that we have a miles better chance of staying up than clubs like Newcastle, Sunderland or Fulham. These clubs have been regularly tipped by some on here as relegation fodder, yet we are seen as safe mid-table. TP does need to start to drop some of his little wierd notions. Only the really blinkered cannot see that Delap and Huth on the right leaves us badly exposed. It's baffling how we are playing Walters up front as first choice at the moment. It's also hard to understand what it is that Wilson has to learn before he can be re-selected? Unless of course it is to lump the ball back to the opposition like the rest of our midfield. We have the players to make a good fist of a top half finish. We just need to play them.

Not as worrying as losing 6 0 to forest to go 2nd bottom in the championship. Or for that matter losing at west ham and having your star striker sent off for fighting with his own player.
Lets get some perspective here. We are playing in a league many of us never dreamt we would be in. We've a better squad, no debt, and are going to Newcastle tomorrow for our third game live on sky favourites to win. The old Stoke would definately lose, the new one who knows.

I fully agree with some of the team selection issues -
even so - to suggest Pulis's team selection may actaully cost us our premier status is wierd bordering on stupid - especially, so early on.
my opinion

It seems this season almost anyone can beat anyone, if they are brave and positive enough.
Wish TP could also be little more adventurous, because we now got the tools to play some decent football.
But its seems we are still over cautious, almost scared to go forward at times. We rather play it safe, and still hoofing it a lot.
One positive sign was when we played two wingers, but sadly Pulis used our second forward (Walters) as defensive forward.
I despair if Delap starts at the RW again when we got Pennant, Walters and Tuncay. We really should be more positive, and who knows we might even achieve something. I've enjoyed our cup matches lately (ManC and Fulham), I would like us to play the same way in the league. Direct, attacking and positive football.

Maybe you could explain why he moaned for years having to play round pegs in square holes and now persists with it even with our squad..

WIERD
but in an attempt to answer your question - he pretty much sees the whole squad day in - day out - week in -week out -WE DONT.
YES he has his favourites often he's far too cautious and, I too often disagree with his team selections and substitutions
but after all HE is the manager - its HIS signings, HIS tactics, HIS team selections, that have got us to where we are
no one else !
We now have a stronger squad than ever before
SO - what has changed to make people post such totally daft assertions ?
i.e his team selctions might cost us out premier league status
wierd - daft - stupid --- you name it !

Crazy to have this thread with only a couple of games gone. We haven't been great so far but have managed to get 4 points, which is far from a disaster. To talk of the potential sacking TP is beyond a joke. We have some big games coming up and at Christmas we will a good view of the table and how it looks to be shaping up for the rest of the year

I have never read so much rubbish as i have today on here.Stoke on Trent really does have some very very strange/negative people and it seems they carry a black cloud around with them and a half empty glass. We are in the our 3rd season in the prem playing to mainly packed houses with probably the best squad of players we have had in years but still folk are not satisfied.Yes Pulis is frustrating and his team selections are baffling but for christs sake stop fookin moaning and ENJOY it before its to late.
