Laws Recruits Polish Striker Posted on: Thu 27 Mar 2008 Sheffield Wednesday have signed Polish striker Bartosz Slusarski on loan from West Bromwich Albion for the rest of the season to boost their goal threat during the run-in to the Championship campaign.
Slusarski joined the Baggies from his homeland in a £680,000 move last summer but is yet to turn out for Albion with the likes of Kevin Phillips, Luke Young and Ishmael Miller in front of him in the Hawthorns pecking order.
The Pole joins in good scoring form having netted six goals in his last four outings for West Brom's second string. Slusarski has been capped twice at full international level by his country, having played 12 times for Poland's under-21s.
The 26-year-old has tasted Championship action already this season, with two separate loan spells at Blackpool, for whom he scored once from four starts and two substitute appearances.
Article continues Advertisement Owls boss Brian Laws said: "It's important we strengthen the side in the striking area given the injury to Marcus Tudgay and Bartosz will do that.
"He's a Polish international, he certainly has ability and hopefully he will do a job for us during this crucial stage of the season."
Slusarski will wear shirt number 36 for Wednesday

Not a bad player when I saw him for their reserves (I know you can't read too much into those games).
Hopefully he won't hurt us on Saturday!
