With all TPs ranting and ravings about the Ref from the Lakes I am still at a loss why the 4th Official did not take control of the game thus allowing a 3pm Kick Off... Is there some ancient FA rule I have missed ?

The 2 linesmen, and the 4th official had never officated a championship game before. My mate who i go stoke with, his step-dad is a ref, tony bates, who was at the game, and had to go home to get his kit incase the ref didnt turn up, as the other officials were inexperienced. (Y)

It probbaly was...
what would happen if one of the officials got injured?
Who would take controll of managers?
Who would inform fans of added time?

The Appointed referee was in the stadium by 3pm...He therefore should have taken the 4th Position in my books...

Again, neither the linesmen, nor the 4th official had any experience of Championship matches, so it would be unethical.

Then what would happen if the proper ref had got injured? Someone would have to take over (one of the guys that had never reffed at Championship level)?

Did the referee against Preston (a) have any experience of championship matches? Because the way he handled it I doubt so. Also isn't he the youngest referee? There again I could go on and on about referees, so I think I will stop now.
